Happy 5th Anniversary Everyone!

Happy 5th Anniversary DNotes!

There are only 25 or 30 cryptocurrencies that have made it to the 5 year mark that still appear to be at least somewhat active. The success rate per capita of coins launched up to this date 5 years ago is actually quite remarkable. On February 16, 2014 there were only 108 listings on Coinmarketcap, and 149 on March 9th when DNotes was listed. At that time, DNotes had a marketcap of $33,502. Even more remarkable is the fact that very few of these coins had any type of funding other than community donations or very small pre-mines [that caused a lot of hissy-fits].

Fast forward 5 years....

According to this site, there are 5594 cryptocurrencies, ICOs, and Huh that have been launched, attempted to launch, or about to launch.  -  https://coinlib.io/coins?fields=rank-name-price_pref-market_cap-volume24h-delta24h-chart1&sort=rank_desc&rpp=50

The good news is that it appears to be slowing down. In the article 'Why Coin Age Matters in Cryptocurrency" [April 3, 2018], I estimated the total to be close to 5,000.  https://www.dnotesedu.com/2018/04/why-coin-age-matters-in-cryptocurrency/

Great article on DNotes 5th Anniversary! https://dnotesglobal.com/2019/02/18/dnotes-celebrates-its-5-year-anniversary-founder-alan-yong-reveals-the-vision-of-mass-adoption-goal-for-2024/
Chase, we are always happy to read your post, so often with rich relevant data. I remember the good old days when I responded to every post, including yours, of course. It was RJF who pointed that out when we last met in person at the farm – Smokeys Gardens. These days are different. If I don’t attend to important messages on my LinkedIn or email immediately, they are buried among hundreds showing up each day.

All indications are that HERo will be a great success. It is opening doors for us beyond my expectations. This will be a very good thing for DNotes and what we have been working so hard for the last five years. HERo is the expanded version of our first business unit – CryptoMoms and the first to scale globally. I have a feeling that it will be an immense success and a global powerhouse for women.

Couldn’t have asked for a better gift. HAPPY 5th ANNIVERSARY to DNotes!!!!!  And congratulations to you all for being our devoted supporters.

Happy Birthday to the team and community! We've both been through and accomplished a lot the last five years together, and it's a pleasure to call everyone present colleagues and friends. DNotes set out with a long term vision and has stuck to its guns. As Alan said, we are beginning to scale some of our business properties one by one so that each of them can support the DNotes ecosystem to facilitate mass adoption of digital currency. We're going to accomplish much more in the next five years.

Space travel isn't our top priority at this time. Smiley However, we do consider DNotes to be significantly undervalued. We are consistently growing our ecosystem and network of influence, it is only a matter of time before I believe we will get closer to that fair market value.

I think as an industry overall, Michael Novogratz was correct in my view to state recently that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency assets aren't going to blast back up to eight, nine, or ten thousand and above, but rather grind its way back up there. The strength that I see in the current cryptocurrency position is that most of the people who were here for a quick dollar (many of whom bought at much higher prices once the bulll run was already in motion) have already abandoned their positions, leaving mostly the people who can both afford to hold onto the risk of large cryptocurrency portfolios, and who have the stomach / experience to do so. It is no surprise that you're beginning to see a thinning out of cryptocurrency projects, with most groups focusing on the core ideas that the market seems to believe are worthwhile.

DNotes continues, and always believed in the core functions of cryptocurrency as an alternative money type for anybody in the world to make use of. We plan to develop all of the core components and technologies that will assist us in building a cryptocurrency that is suitable for anybody worldwide to use for payments. In addition, we recognized that a huge business ecosystem would be required to build the infrastructure for that cryptocurrency to use, and we took it one step further to build a lot of that core infrastructure ourselves so both make that integration process easier (same designers) to give maximal efficiency, and also allow an avenue for the venture to make revenues that can be used to further develop the ecosystem.

It is a clever system where improvements in any area of the business are good for all other areas -- milestones in one part of the ecosystem help the other areas of the overall system. Today more and more people are learning about DNotes, and who DNotes Global Inc are through our outreach programs, and as a result of engagement through Hero.

Slow and steady wins the race in a game where anyone can perish on a knife edge.

Very well said, Tim. DNotes strategic plans as outlined on our road map are not easy to envision and nearly impossible to replicate. They have been the same since day one and we have consistently delivered as promised. That is our job. In an efficient free market the true value of DNotes will eventually takes care of itself.

Great presser. Hopefully it will be read far and wide. Every year people can look towards our press releases and see that we have been consistent since the very first day. As people begin to see us, and realize who we are, they will recognize the fact that they're looking to invest in people are trustworthy. Consistency is one of the biggest indicators of trustworthiness (and likely one reason why we were included in Silicon Review's Top 50 Most Trusted Companies of 2018), being much preferable to frequently changing direction with whatever way the wind is perceived to be blowing on that day.

Op-Ed: Blockchain Businesses Won’t Prevent Monopolies or Democratize Wealth
https://dcebrief.com/op-ed-blockchain-businesses-wont-prevent-monopolies-or-democratize-wealth/

Good job on the article Tim! There are certainly opportunities within the realm of decentralization of assets which have some properties that would open investing up to more people to participate. We have to realistically recognize that there are legal restrictions created to protect people from these high risk investments.

Some of the key benefits of blockchain in relation to decentralization of assets are in efficiencies of distribution, trading, and even in tracking and verification processes that have not yet come to fruition.
For example, investing a restricted amount would likely be permitted by law if it were to a blockchain verified individual that automation could keep track of the transactions one day. In this scenario a regular consumer would have the opportunity to invest in something like facebook at the earliest stage. It would also be much more attractive to a company to open up to consumer investors as the platform could be much more automated with much less overhead.

Thanks, and you're quite right. Everyone must obey the rules if you want to get ahead, and you can only get away not following them for a short time. It's not that existing models can't offer everything that an ICO does, it's just that the regulations are such a costly and exclusive way to financing businesses. Regulators could remove many of the restrictions and make it okay for anybody to invest in just about any company instantly (like crowdfunding), and then suddenly the ICO model would only have efficiency and 'blockchain token economy' as potential advantages. At the current time though, people are trying to merge the two to have blockchain token economy + legal, without financing efficiency.

Glad that you are still here and doing even more for our industry.

HERo has been gaining many crypto-blockchain women in support of our initiative last few weeks. Great feedback so far and very positive.
