I think some (a lot) of people are hating on Bitcion for the reason that it's a way to make easy money. While they have dedicated their whole life to earn their money from their "slave jobs" they can't accept some nerds are making big profits easily. It's not jealousy , it's just disdain.

So a couple of days ago, in a bloggers group on facebook; a guy asked what is bitcoin? And I was quite amazed to see that many people start commenting and saying stay away for bitcoin, its black currency, under world currency, or dark web currency and stuff like that.
Obviously the people who were saying this didn't know about bitcoin and have probably heard the same from someone else, but this is the perception of many around us.
What can be done to change this? Make BTC more user friendly? More appealing to general public?

Every new beginning perceives with a negative trust. It must take a few more years before people will start to realize that era of fiat currency damnation is over. Nothing cant stop this process, we all want to live in a free world, pay less taxes, see our money value growing.

There are definitely some people like that, the people who just can't get the computer to work properly and so dismiss it because they are jealous at those computer nerds and can't buy Bitcoin anyways.
They will only see it as a real asset when it shows up in a stock account.

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

ignore them. We will be rich and they will not. They miss the chance to earn more money and miss the opportunity to have a new technology and make more profit.

Sadly this is the same for a lot of people as the only time people really here about bitcoin is when it is tied to crime.  I do see this changing, most recently bitcoin is getting more and more positive press and more adoption which will gradually change their opinion.

Don't waste your time trying to convince people to join the bitcoin revolution, take it as a sign that you are a pioneer and take advantage of you being ahead of the pack to amass as much BTC as possible instead of trying to waste energy to convince people.

They will keep being on the denial phase until they are forced to understand the importance of bitcoin. Back then you couldn't convince people in 1990 about the internet, this is the same.
Totally agree with you. Though I feel too late in coming into bitcoin world, there are still people to whom I can compare myself as pioneer Cheesy
But my point was not only how to convince them, but there must be a step taken by some powerful people or organizations to promote this technology to masses. Only then I feel the true purpose of bitcoin and cryptos can be achieved.

Agree. Ignore them you cant earn a bitcoin from them if you convinced them. Well if they noticed or know what is the value of bitcoin now i could pretty say that they keep asking you to teach them on how to earn it and what to do. But now they dont have knowledge about it so they dont care about it. That is the most people reaction if they dont know the real value of bitcoin. If you do say 1 bitcoin to them sort of it is equivalent to $1 or less but its not!

Not just the good news about bitcoin that we need to show to people who judge reputation of bitcoin is not good, but with good facts about some bitcoin activity that we need to prove to them to erase bad impression on bitcoin.

i can easy tell you that does that refuse bitcoin and see criminal activity everywhere when you mention it don't hold any the other who are loving it are holding a few or many

it's always like that everyone who can't have something begin to hate it in the end, they can't afford to buy there fore they hate

i think they are intelligent enough to think that bitcoin is not related to criminal like it's for fiat, but it's the criminal that just use it for their dirty operations

I also include people who are annoyed with news about bitcoin-related crimes in various media, my whole family is asking this question and not a few of them are negative about bitcoin. I can only politely reply if bitcoin does not violate the law because the state never prohibits its use.

Always remember this, when people confront you with those type of statement >> Bad News, Sell Papers <<

The media and websites attract people with bad news, not good news. The only time something good is reported is when the Bitcoin price reach a record high. So the general public is bombarded with bad news and record high prices. This is something that they cannot understand, so their response will be defensive < eg. Bitcoin is a Ponzi & Bitcoin is mostly use for crime >

When people react like this, it is just a natural reaction based on fear of the unknown and blown up FUD being spread by the media.

I think if negative news circulating about bitcoin alone does not eliminate reputation of bitcoin itself, because indirectly the popularity of bitcoin will increase and widely known to the public, because in general bad news will spread faster and interest of curiosity from the community than good news Sometimes get usual response

We dont need to convince them or to make their mind change. We will just continue to use bitcoin and when the time comes that all countries in the world will be accepting bitcoin they will regret not having bitcoin earlier while we enjoy the benefits and profit from bitcoin. In short we dont need to explain what is bitcoin to them but time will tell the story of what bitcoin is.

Bitcoin, though has alot of misconceptions from beginning, now many people are becoming aware of it as a really liquid assets and a great values. This time last year bitcoin is less than $600 but today bitcoin is more than one once of gold. People will readjust their perception on bitcoin immediately they discovered that they too can make fortunes from it.

But may affect the regulations or acceptance of government towards bitcoin but well it's fine, as long as the price keeps on increasing there's nothing to worry supposedly until further information from the local governments of whether they will accept or refuse, it'll then affect the price of bitcoin, only if the government is the one which rule developed country though.

Just let the bitcoin to get more popularities so it will be enough for them to shut their mouth up. Those people are keep saying that stay away from bitcoin because they didn't earn good profits or they didn't get bitcoins for a lower price so they are spreading negative thoughts so they will have a hope for the price to go down. We don't need them because someday they will come and reach to us and they will beg for our help to teach them on how to use bitcoin.

Well, there's nothing we can do about these matter. We just need to wait and see what will be their reaction if a news came out and realizing they are wrong. Mostly, they say these things because they do not really know what bitcoin is, all they know is that bitcoin is used in such activities and they might distance their selves from it. We just need to ignore them, nothing will change even if they say something like that,we know the truth.
