However, open hostility is not needed. As I showed in the article above - Saudi Arabia has no economy of its own except oil extraction and refinement. Keeping the price low enough could create enough domestic problems for their government and severely undermine its support for global jihad. All those preachers, mosques, bribes, fighters and weapons cost alot of money, that they might need to keep social unrest from happening. Shia minority is like wise presenting another problem for the theocracy.

Saudi Arabia has plenty of money in its rainy day funds (close to $500 billion). Also, they can get a lot more, if they sell a part of the Aramco. Even at current prices, Aramco revenues are somewhere between $150 billion and $200 billion per year, and if the government remove the taxes, then the profit margin can be as much as 90%. They can sell the company for around $2 trillion.
When it's hard to explain the reasons behind an event, it's usually money. The rich Saudis are treating terrorist activity like the natural spread of Islam. To them financing a terrorist organization is helping their faith. They are rich, very religious and bored. A deadly mix.

Terrorism won't disappear, because it's a money making machine. The leaders never blow themselves up, nor lead their troops to battle. They sit comfortably in hiding and do business. Transfer money here, make a shell company there, Ahmed in Germany is planning an attack and needs some explosives and Abdul in France wants some AK47s. Time to call the sheikh.

I believe terrorists have no religion.

I have never seen a Hindu terrorist blowing up in pubs and shopping malls. Similarly, I haven't heard about any incident where a Christian terrorist targeted civilians in suicide bombing. Being politically correct is good, but when you make statements like this, it becomes an attempt to white-wash the atrocities being committed by a particular religion or ideology.

I am a citizen of the Philippines, specifically in Mindanao group of island. This Maute Group(an alleged ally of ISIS) is terrorizing one of the city here in Mindanao and just started a war against the Philippine Army. Now, If these group will be successful, we would be like Syria. I wanna hear your opinions about these guys. thanks.

The main reason why there's terrorism is just difference of belief,
each people has their own belief and if someone strongly fights for his belief there's where terrorism starts.

It will never end, Terrorism in the Philippines is very much alive. As of the moment, Philippine Army is in control and most likely will end the siege in a month or two. But the thing is they are terrorists, They will just recruit and build an army again to engage another war. They will never stop, Terrorism will never end as long as they are financed by someone.

it will never end... politics try to defete current terrorism.. their solution seems to be more surveilance... which may help defete the current terror... not having in mind that this will create some new form of terrorism... they grow future terrorist which will probably be some hackers fighting surveilance and the orwellian state...

Terrorism is all about religious division and sometimes pure hatred by our islamic brothers and sisters, they will just do anything to kill and maim others of different beliefs, as long as the Quran incites them to a Holy War, they will forever be violent, The Israelis building a wall seemed to help, so why shouldn't the Americans try the same as well.

The issue of terrorism is something that if it will end will take a long time because the cause of it to the best if my knowledge is fundamental which is going back to the basics of the teachings people get to engage in it in the first place because at the point where people have the thinking that they can fight against the forces of government with all the arms and ammunitions in the armoury of a country, and they are ready to die to achieve that, then its no longer a child's play. In this case, since its fairly new in Philippines, if its cut off immediately to the root, it will take a while before they regroup and enlightment on the part of government so that people won't go back to join under the guise of  fighting injustice.
Terrorism is now happening in many countries around the world, especially those with multi-party regimes. Just as you say terrorism causes injury to people. A series of bloody gunshots. Vietnam is the least terrorist country because it is the only Communist Party of Vietnam.

In that case, there should be no incidents of terrorism in Syria. The only legal and recognized political party there is the Syrian Ba'ath party. But it is not true. Half of the country is under the control of the ISIS, and a large section is also under the control of Al Nusra.

As long as there is no oppression and as long as there will be criminal less world we wont see that ending in the near future. I do feel it as a trillion dollar business, initially the US funded the so called ISIS as all the weapons used by them are provided by them and now they are fighting against them,it is like a video game ,so that the war keeps on rolling as well as the business.

I think in Vietnam's case, the ethnic homogeneity did help. The Communist party already won and there is nothing else to squabble about. That's why countries like Japan and South Korea have no separatist groups. There's very little cultural and religious differences. (

With the Philippines, Muslims are also a different ethnic group. Save for inter-ethnic marriages, being Muslim is seen as an identity. Interesting to note that before the republic was created, there are areas that are now provinces that has declared independence separately from other regions. You don't see those provinces going in revolt. Why? They are Christian-majority.

Yeah i've read a lot of articles and theories about how some powerful countries who seem to oopose terrorists, are in fact behind all these activities, basically for the business of war. It's hard enough to end it as it is with people who have twisted beliefs, and it's even harder to end it with powers unseen manipulating in the back

If the terrorists keep on attacking Maute, the terrorists will have an opportunity to reinforce backup and terrorize the city even worse. The president of the Philippines would have no choice but to declare Martial Law so we can prevent this crisis from happening.

Terrorism will end when you pick up your guns and put down the terrorists yourselves. This will include putting down your Government, which promotes terrorism... even (especially?) the United States Government.

It's funny how all this started after President Durte put an end to the illegal gun sales, threatened to close all U.S. military bases, and shut down the central bank.  He never requested the U.S. Special Forces, they just showed up.  I don't think that is a good thing.
I sincerely wish you well.

There are quite a lot of examples. During the 1970s, the CIA trained, funded and armed the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, to take on the Soviets. Evidence also exists linking the creation of the ISIS to the CIA.

People are imperfect. There is unjustness and inequality in our world and this is Undeniable.Terrorism is a resulf ot these factors, and I believe it would be an utopia for our world to be perfect and not exist some these "problems".

Terrorism will never end. This is very beneficial for many countries. Actually the terrorists are private army that has no moral principles and are willing for money to do any job. As the world will stop using oil, the army will only increase their numbers.

Yes, but you are mixing two different things here. Faciliating enemy of your enemy is part of geopolitics. Political violence is however fundamental part of Islam and has been since its inception. Those people would still be killers and murderers. Just with lesser weapons.

The term Political Islam is a recently developed term. It is used to label the wide-scale activities of individuals or organizations heading towards the transformation of the state and entire society according to ”Islamic” rules. It is based on Islam which is a complex of political persuasion and fundamental Islamic books – Koran, Sira (the biography of Mohammed), and Hadith (Mohammed’s traditions). The term is often used in connection with the movements which represent the current political powers in the name of Islam, emerging at the end of 20th century. It is also used as a term describing political activities stemming from basic Islamic books aiming predominantly at Non-Muslims.
