Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Tracking info indicates the miners are headed to my (friend's) old address! Please send it to the new one, or to me (see PM)

Ah crap. Uh... Hmm.

If it can't be undone, I think my friend says that it just bounces back to you. Hopefully that's the case. More hopefully, it can be undone or picked up by my friend at the old address (maybe the forwarding service will be lenient).

I've been informed one of the Canadian packages has an issue. I may have done some paperwork incorrectly... Sigh. Investigations underway. If you're outside the US, check your tracking, which everyone should have by now. If you don't, I have it (except for the position box guys)  but may not have sent it to you, purely by mistake, i'd it happened at all.

Did you PM your Canadian customer for whom the shipping has an issue?

( I am in Canada, expecting a shipment from you, but have not received either tracking information nor a message regarding an issue.. )

edit to add, I seem to require permission to view the spreadsheet now? How might I go about getting such permission?

You're shitting me. Right... Well, for obvious reasons, i'm out of this game. Contact Canary or something. I'm not an "official reseller" anyway.

Cheesy  These are priced at what we got them for anyway.  They are probably cleaning out their remaining stock - they can't make much money at a price point much lower than this.

I am going to email their support and ask if I can purchase 50 because I was a member of a group buy that purchased directly from them.  At .1 per I would take 50 of them, anyone else is more than welcome to tack on to this order if they allow it.  I will update when I get word from FC.

I'd take 15 more if you would be open to including them in your order. Now they are actually priced for gifts!

Not worth it any more.  Next retarget is going to be over 110m difficulty.  These things have seen it.

I respectively disagree, using thegenesisblock's mining calculator (unfortuantely I cannot pull it up at work because it is blocked, so I cant share the link), but each one still has some potential for small profit at 77% increase of difficulty, which I think is pretty outrageous.  So by having a large number of them, you can accumulate a good chunk of money, nothing life changing but a couple of btc.  Which is worth it for me.

By all means, purchase away. Smiley

To me, 75% a month is a very good estimate for the next couple of months, assuming SOME of the chip designers make it past the AutoCAD stage.  The percentage may not hold long term, but I'd rather not gamble any more on these with increasing shipments of BFL (finally!), all of the Avalon chips that will eventually hit the network, bitfury, Hashfast, KNC, and all the other private chip manufacturers out there who will be shipping by EOY.  Plus, once I factor in USB hubs (which can be reused, admittedly, but what do I need 40 usb plugs for anyway?) it really doesn't make any sense to me to get any more.

Agreed. Any hardware I get will have to be a lot more then one chip per usb.

The bitfury chips are at 2GH/s@500mA per chip, so that wouldn't be too bad.  I'm actually following a developer and might be putting together a group buy for those should they come available.

I wasn't aware of that. Been too long since I've really done a full board catch up read.

I have been watching the thread where these have been being talked about, IDK when they will become available, but it wasnt sounding like a minimum order was going to be necessary, and that initial supply wasnt going to be very large, so it may make more sense to just put an order in than scramble to get money together, of course if they do require a minimum number of units, then count me in depending on price (which I assume will be attractive, but who knows).  I guess we will have to wait and see.

The developer I was watching had a minimum of 100.  Right now the price is 1btc for October delivery, but it's tentative and final pricing hasn't been announced.
