I heard there will be a bitcoin conference in San Jose, California, USA this month. Do anyone have more details about the coming conference?

I have met the requirements, with 4 posts and 11 hours, and am still a newbie. So it's kind of annoying.

These are the most bizarre forum joining rules I ever came across, I really don't care that much to join a forum...

This entire newbie concept is quite a burden. Ive read through posts in the general discussion I've wanted to post on and can't because of this implementation. I could have contributed to a couple threads but instead found myself closing the fuking forum because was so annoyed with this BS. Find another solution to spam accounts, this is not the answer. It's hard telling if I'll return after I make this post because I'll probably lose interest and forget all about this place. Not going to sit around for hours waiting.
How likely is it getting a legitimate reply to forum post in this newbie forum anyway? I made a post and waiting for a reply. Are there any knowledgeable members that actually read through this disgrace of a section?

Guessing people are anxious to get into the giveaway threads.. It is kinda a strange hoop to have to jump through.

Had that problem also... made another post, logged out/in, and waited another few minutes (not sure which fixed it) and then Newbie flag was gone... /shrug

The n00b concept is sound, but the annoyance is no open notice about it.
It should be clearly stated when you register, exactly what will happen and what is expected.
I have browsed these forums for a few weeks, I generally never register to forums until I want to post, and I don't like bothering people unless I absolutely have to, I only knew about some sort of newbie restriction because of someone onposting a PM on a newbies behalf in a thread I was monitoring, to find the actual rules I had to go digging.
Basically you register and then you can't do anything, and the FAQ tells you nothing about why you can't post, that's dissapointing, the rules of being a newbie should be the first thing you read after you register.
So anyway, there's my opinion on the matter and as my first post hopefully I can now PM so I can go jump onboard a group order. woohoo! ciao for now!

Of course it's hard. We will not post anything usefull being newbies anyway.
And for bots it's not really an obstacle. I do not see point in this.
