It's worth it to be an active part of the community, especially with new coins releasing lately

I don't mind the newbie status. In reality, it's just a label.

I like it and i don't having to wait to be able to post outside i understand for bots and everything but there should be other verification processes that could let you bypass it and let you move up

This is the first forum where I have encountered something like it.
Seeing as I only register once I want to post something (i.o.w. I have already read the forum for some time), this forces me to hammer out 5 posts on other topics before I can do so (this is one of them  Roll Eyes).
Since I have also already seen that it in no way hinders trolls, I don't really get the advantage it has, apart from wasting everybodies time...

I think its kind of stupid. If you don't want spammers just implement recaptcha.

As I kept going to the mining section for software configuration issues it took me a while to find my way to the newbie section and I found out that I couldn't post immediately. Luckily I found everything I needed without having to post, but it could have been a small problem to me.

It's not so hard, just post few messages and you're done.

It still is one of the best ways to kill off forum spam.

It still is one of the best ways to kill off forum spam.

I wouldnt say it kills it off... just causes more of it to fall in a particular sub-forum rather than spread all over.

I understand why they do it. It protects the other boards while giving new users a chance to get known.
It's not so hard; it's just that we want it NOW. On the internet 4 hours is a small eternity.  Most of us don't have attention spans that long.

It's not hard to get the posts, obviously, but since the time counter only tracks active browsing or whatever- I hardly accumulate anything because I'm constantly switching between other browsing windows and applications and then the timer stops. (Even if I'm reading bitcoin forum on other monitor, the window is not active)

It's not too bad.  I've seen a couple of other forums get totally destroyed by spambots, so this is better than that alternative.

However, the quality of everyone's first five posts is probably pretty low.
