Benefits of this USB ASICMiner group buy over others I've seen:
• Reservation by payment - no tortuous "collecting payments" period • Shipping included in price • Canary already has a shipping strategy planned out
That first point is a big advantage - I'm reading threads w other group buys that have essentially stalled out due to reservations flaking on payment.

Maybe some one covered this somewhere but why should we trust OP with 90 thousand USD worth in Bitcoins?
if by "OP" you mean me, then the answer is because you can. Has someone already looked up past trades in the honest traders list, etc? Seems like a cool guy, but I haven't done that yet. As far as signing with an address, perhaps I'm not as tech savy, but I don't know which address will send the transaction before I send one using my home wallet. I always have to go look at the transaction using blockchain.info and sometimes it uses coins from multiple addresses. I've not signed before, is that in the original satoshi client at this time? Do I have to do that? Perhaps someone can walk me through how to do that before I join? I hope to be available tonight or tomorrow AM. I'm up to about 15 orders now and would like to start placing my orders once I learn how to sign and do some homework on Canary just to be safe. Gonna check in with a few more friends to see how many more units I can add to this order. If the guy who wants 200+ pulls through, please announce 24 hours before ordering so those of us on the sidelines can have that grace period if you don't mind

Here is a quick lesson on another group by on how to sign the transaction. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195052.msg2025931#msg2025931

If the guy who wants 200+ pulls through, please announce 24 hours before ordering so those of us on the sidelines can have that grace period if you don't mind AFAIK the bitcoin wallet client does not show the address the the funds were sent from. You do need to go to blockexplorer.com and look up the address the funds were sent from. If sent from multiple addresses then you can pick one. once you have the address, then follow the directions youve read elsewhere, ie. click "sign", fill out the three fields, the click "sign message". now send all three fields to Canaryinthemine. He will be able to use the signature and the address to verify the contents of the message came from someone that controls the address. if you didnt do this... some random internet person could send him a bogus mailing address, claiming they are you. this way he knows the mailing address and the funds came from the same person/wallet.

CanaryInTheMine,
Considering 5-10 units.
When do you think this offer will close?
As soon as we reach 300, our order will be placed. Memorial weekend will probably slow everything down.. But hopefully this is ready in a week or so..

After you order how long before you receive the 300 units ? I think it's pretty quick, as soon as friedcat/ASICMiner ships them via DHL. DHL shouldn't take more than 3-5 days from my experience..

If you dig through my posts going back all the way, you'll see that I've been trustworthy with bitcoin loans, raffles and using my own bitcoins to place orders with vendors to see if they deliver (gotta be that Canary in the mine ) etc...
