It could be that he wasn't being literal in saying 24 hours. If I tell someone 24 hours, I'm giving a window of +/- a few hours.
I'm not a betting man, but I'd bet that if it is legit, and it goes over the 24 hour mark, that people are going to freak out and zombie apocalypse will occur on this forum. Oh, and monkeys riding rainbow colored unicorns will be our next world leaders.

I was thinking this too. Surely he would have posted a one sentence update by now to confirm it was still going ahead?

Agree, I'm expecting a few delay or advance, a specific hour would have been given otherwise. Anyway I'm ready the zombie apocalypse since a long time ago.

Good. I welcome the 3rd PPC fork that at least tries something slightly different. Dynamic scrypt parameter was something dreamwatcher wanted to do some time ago, I am sure he would be happy to add to his explorer collections This will be interesting to watch. I was contacted by a member of a group that have been working on a CPU only coin for quite some time. Which is why I put the CPU -only project on hold. (I haven't talked to them in a bit , been a hell of a couple of weeks). From what I read and learned, the successful design of a coin of this nature is a bit complex, and there were still a few hurdles to overcome. Dammit, now I have to switch the CPUs in my mining rigs, and I should have bought the 8 core instead of the 6 core for my main PC... As for the explorer, one thing learned over the past few days, is that I have to be careful about what I add especially with breakneck speed coins are being released. Most of the issues with the new server (and the three new coins) have been due to attacks on the CHNcoin explorer.

Is it related to scrypt or some other hash function, or something else entirely?

This is just a renamed clone of novacoin. I The OP is still struggling with getting his GPU rigs ready to mine the first 10k blocks in the first minute
I believe you can only mine it with CPU. But I get what you are joking about. My best guess is that the OP already has something better than a "builtin miner" ready. I also think that the OPs account is just an alt account of someone else here

Well, as we discussed on this thread, it is also GPU mineable but not just yet (or just for OP and those who succeed to build the gpu miner from the source codes). Edit: Yes, this is going to be added to the definition of premined after this

I wouldn't install this on my pc until someone browse through it, thanks. No commits pushed in 8 days. This means he's hanging onto the *actual* code and not pushing it until it's officially available. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
