If they fall in the $40-50 range with chips than I'll be in for 10

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

How difficult would it be to attach the Avalon chip yourself -- I assume it's BGA?

It's a QFN 48 pkg. Do a search on Youtube "solder qfn" and you'll see some demos to help you decide. With some skills it's not hard but you need the right tools - ideally an SMD rework station. There is a large thermal pad on the bottom and this has to be soldered without too much that it floats it up off the board.

You'd want to practice on low cost chips.

Just say the price?

Way too early to tell, almost certainly under 1 btc. How much under, well, time will tell.

1 BTC would be too high. The Bulgarians offered the K1 @ 10 EUR + Chip (around 0.08 BTC) and the K16 @ 31 EUR + Chips (16x0.08 BTC).

This is retail pricing with chip included, ready to go.

All i'm saying is that it will be less than 1 btc, but like I said, can't be sure now on anything more specific than that.

Do you have an estimate on when you expect to be able to ship?

1.4btc = $180 for k1? no thanks
Board + Chip + Production costs no more $ 50
Up to $ 100 ok, above this value, not worth it.

This is why I didn't want to say a price I said UNDER 1 btc. (which means it could be anywhere from 0.01 to 0.99) This includes everything assembled with the chip.

What if bitcoin price crashes to $60 or even under $30 begore june, will the price of the miner still be under 1 BTC?

I was gonna put a disclaimer for that. but i thought my weasel word of "almost' would cover me. I'll be more clear. at the current Bitcoin price (~$130), it will be under 1 btc. If bitcoin doubles, it'll be under 0.5, if it halves, under 2...

As of right now I am 99% sure it will cost less than $120 dollars (and most likely a good amount less than that) but I have NO IDEA what parts and labor cost yet. the only expense I have right now is the 592 chips I bought with ragingazn628

I am setting up production facilities that will allow me to assemble any Klondike product.

If you provide me with all the parts (kit from bkkcoins + your Avalon chips)
K1 Nano - 0.1 BTC
K16 - 0.25 BTC

If you provide only the Avalon chips
K1 Nano - 0.3 BTC
K16 - 0.75 BTC

USA based. Announcement thread forthcoming with website within the week.

I will have everything needed to build all the boards EXCEPT the Avalon chips.

A could also offer a full product, but I would have to buy the Avalon chips with real $$ and pass on the cost. If paid with BTC, then I could also purchase them. But I won't have them in stock. I spent all my bitcoins on BFL miners that I'm still waiting for plus some Avalon chips for klondikes I'm building for myself.

What is the speed on a K16?
