I was gonna put a disclaimer for that. but i thought my weasel word of "almost' would cover me. I'll be more clear. at the current Bitcoin price (~$130), it will be under 1 btc. If bitcoin doubles, it'll be under 0.5, if it halves, under 2...
As of right now I am 99% sure it will cost less than $120 dollars (and most likely a good amount less than that) but I have NO IDEA what parts and labor cost yet. the only expense I have right now is the 592 chips I bought with ragingazn628
I'm interested in buying one or two, will I have to buy the avalon chips or you have them in stock? Sorry I didn't read the whole thread I'm a bit busy. Cheers

When the finished product is available for order, will you be accepting BTC only?

@OP - I know you said you are ordering 592 chips, but if I end up with a few extras from my klondike cards can I have you fashion them into nanos? I'm sure this will be a popular request as people end up with spare chips from various group buys for klondikes etc. Plz post pricing and such once you have that info available. I am watching this with keen interest.

I'd ask bkkcoins directly for help with that.

I'm interested in this design as a breakout board so I can have a play with some spare chips. Hopefully someone will sell just PCBs, otherwise I will get some made in China.

I'm interested in this provided I won't have to buy an Avalon chip myself, it is affordable enough and if you ship worldwide.

Any updates?
Maybe we should organize a group buy for avalon chips here and send them to Klondike?

Klondike is not a person or company it is a board design/designs.

Latest status - waiting for K1 test boards to arrive. They were shipped on May 30th. so should be here in a few days. I'm setting up a prototype board to test firmware while waiting for the K1s. Until today I was waiting on PIC chips to come in. Some of the firmware code has been tested and scoped by choaztc and is working but even if I get fully functional firmware I'm still going to be waiting on Avalon samples to test/verify against, and those appear to be a couple-few weeks out. I don't have spare Avalon chips ordered to make K1 sales with. I know of a few forum members who have chips and are waiting on final boards to produce a ready-to-use product, either on their own or with me providing boards or assembly (K1 only). So I think by the time chips begin arriving there will be options for those who want a plug n play K1 experience. At some point, when more certainty is available, pre-orders will be opened and jumping on that will be best bet for early on product.

Correct, there are some who have chips and can build them for you and those who can build only if you provide chips.
I am the latter of these. I don't have chips to provide to others, but I offer a build service to those who have the chips. I can provide everything else if needed. bkkcoins is has also talked of providing parts kits (excluding Avalon chips) as well.
If you provide only the Avalon chips, I can build the K1 USB miner for you for 0.3 BTC.
If you provide the Avalon chips and the remaining parts from a bkkcoins parts kit, I will assemble the K1 USB miner for you for 0.1 BTC.

Added to post 1 To clarify, I'm going to sell COMPLETED units to people when I get them made. I have ordered 592 chips in a group buy and am using them to buy and sell completed, ready to use, boards.
