You can get then for 0.8374 BTC Smiley

K1's? You cannot "get then [sic]". You can only pre-order them to be delivered at a much later date. Tell me. What is your guaranteed delivery date?

Well considering the bkk has not completed testing the design yet probably not.

You make a great point.

You are therefore no longer competitive.

3 weeks

In those 3 weeks BE's will mine about .2 BTC which makes their effective cost .69 BTC. Way cheaper than yours.

The "Final Beta" Revision of K1 has been pushed up to GitHub.

List of Changes:

1. Added Dual NOR gate and Inverters from testing on K16 to improve result capture.
2. Changed PIC to use QFN version.
3. Added 2mm holes for fastening heat sink.
4. Made both LEDs flashable under software control for better blinkies.
5. Added thermistor for sensing temperature.
6. Fixed issues with buck regulator traces.
7. I2C chain conn. now non-thru hole pads - fits 3 pin header.
8. Added ferrite beads to ASIC power and USB signals.
9. Added another PIC decoupling capacitor.

This design should be checked over carefully before ordering boards based on it. Due to the many changes it should be treated as a new board.

I am initially only going to order a short run of these boards to supply current web store DIY orders and my own initial testing. This "Final Beta" board will be WHITE.

PIC QFN parts are in short supply right now. I have a limited batch coming to me already and have sold about 1/3 of those via web store pre-orders for the pre-programmed PICs.

Here's a render of what the Beta White board could look like:

And the back side - for those who want to know where the LEDs are. Actually I think the back side will be white too.

Good question! I didn't even notice they weren't there. I better go find them  Tongue

edit: Just checked again and the vias never show up on the renders, and on the gerbers only in the drill file (and some islands on internal layers). So that doesn't appear to have changed.

You had me worried for a minute there.

They should show up on a render though, but if you look carefully only the vias that have islands to exclude the layer show up.

Thanks for noticing that. I need that kind of scrutiny because when you work on it all day it's pretty easy for things to slip past you when you click the last few buttons to output files. The more people check over, and query any weirdness, the more likely we'll end up with perfect functional boards.

Howcome there's no metal plate on the bottom to let the heat out? Seems like that would limit the overclocking potential.

Thanks again BKKCoins.

Can't wait to start producing these in quantity and shipping them to people.

Exciting times.
