Curious if anyone has thoughts on the IOTA tangle tech that they're talking up.
my understanding is that to place a transaction, you first have to witness 2 other transactions. The mechanic leads to consensus through a new proof of transaction type system.

Interesting concept.. thoughts?

some of my thoughts, or more like questions:

-how much pc-power is needed to do those "pretransaction" calculations (cost of free) ?

-when JINN is available and how much power/memory it uses, good for phones/tablets ?

-can these blockchain- and tangle-technologies be used in parallel way supporting each other ?

-is Iota more like a platform instead of currency ? value of token ?

yeah, i have some Iota too

dag  tokens will have their chance to shine... not that they will some serious devs already experimented and discounted them.

byteball is preferable over iota if you want dag in your porfolio

how many iota shit new threads will clutter this main board ? ever thought about asking these questions on the iota thread?

oh look another 3 post sock puppet account popping up with iota interest.

I just find it amusing that the lead developer of Iota somehow has time to waste trolling people on this forum, I literally don't remember him ever posting more than a one or two sentence insult.  How am I suppose to take a developer seriously when they consistently act like a 14 year old on a public forum?

Any serious discussion on alternative chains has to include Xtrabytes. If the OP can start a thread to shill i dont see why i cant. Xtrabytes while still in development looks far better to me than byteball and IOTA.

I'll post this cause it explains consensus better than me.

Makes laugh all these quantim computing resistent chains when all you needed was a secure system that can be broken due to simple logic.

Insider = not lazy to read this forum.

There is this huge Iota announcement thread from back in 2015 and the Iota trading thread with many OTC deals done publicly in 2016 that urged people to join slack to trade and be a part of Iota community.

There is a slack exchange that operated in 2016 that everyone could use to buy Iota when it was much cheaper. Again, this is public information, you can find it in the Altcoins->Marketplace subforum.

If that is insider trading, I got news for you: you're too lazy.

Got to agree. IOTA was open as any ICO it just had the advantage that it happened when btc was low and interest and money going into ICOs but when it hit the market people were ICO crazy. You cant blame IOTA for that.

As of now, I would say blockchain for a few reasons. First off, Tangle it is not as proven or tested. IOTA has not had nearly the amount of users that Bitcoin has. Actually, MIT even released a post about some of IOTA’s vulnerabilities after some testing, which IOTA has since fixed, they claim
