I looked up this interview but I could not find it, Bill Gates might be rich, but it can not catch up with the innovations, BitCoin is a really great technological innovation, but I think he might have been self-assessed and not suited to itself.

Bill Gates would not make such a stupid move,because he or anyone in his place will not want to lose their reputation. The reason why cryptos will ruin his reputation is that bitcoin aint got any owner,he cannot trust a owner-less currency or is it adopted by any country . In a reddit live AMA(ask me anything) question ,when asked do you own any bitcoin or do you use any,Mr.Bill Gates replied,

Nobody gets tired with his money and it is really good that he is spending some of his fortunes for the poor,since he is a technology genius i am sure he has invested or even tried bitcoin as i have seen him talking about bitcoin and its prospects in the past and so you never know what kind of investments he had made in bitcoin so far.

Is this about Bill gates in term person or his company ? if this about himself, i think he never think to touch this currency, he is so busy with his real life, there is more important investments than bitcoin, but if you talking about his company, maybe there is a division or department that taking care company fund, there is a chance bitcoin used for this one, beside that how we can know about it ? maybe he already knew about Bitcoin and have tried it too, but yeah let's just wait and see. Bitcoin is still in development and growing period, who knows in the future everybody will talk about it ?

Update :   He already know about Bitcoin, there is an interview video he that he talking about it, so there is a big chance he have investment for Bitcoin

Gates may not be interested in Bitcoin

Personally, I don't see a single reason why he should be. He didn't invent this technology, and there is no way he could steal it (like it happened so many times to so many technologies in the past), therefore Bitcoin is certainly not his thing by any means. I don't think he might be interested in Bitcoin on purely investment grounds, Bitcoin is just too small and marginal for someone of his caliber. As you can see, apart from idle interest, there is nothing in Bitcoin that could attract Bill Gates to Bitcoin like shit attracts flies. Or like honey attracts bees
