So I opened CMD, and typed:

C:\*file-location*\yacoin-qt.exe -gen -addnode=82.211.30.212 -addnode=192.168.1.237 -addnode=54.217.249.235 -addnode=54.217.249.230 -addnode=54.217.249.229 -addnode=54.217.249.139 -addnode=54.217.249.230

And YACoin opened, but I'm still seeing 0 active connections.. Did I do it right?

check the nodes in the list, some can be removed like 192.168 one and also the one ending 230 is a dup

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

by running that code does it start mining? Can't see a hash rate anywhere on screen - also the mining tab is not there either?

Thank you, very useful reply Smiley

Hash rate is 105,014 is that good bad?  Can anyone predict coins/day on that hash? (Formula if anyone knows it)

I got the run thing from someone else and used one node, I got 8 active connections, does that mean it's mining?

Go to Help menu, Debug window, select the tab Console, type gethashespersec in the bottom textbox.

Getting 0; so I guess that the client is not mining?

We don't need to set up a conf file or anything - right?

yacoin-qt.exe -server -gen -addnode=82.211.30.212 -addnode=76.115.8.101 -addnode=192.168.1.237 -addnode=54.217.249.235 -addnode=54.217.249.230 -addnode=54.217.249.229 -addnode=54.217.249.139 -addnode=54.217.249.230

conf file:

addnode=82.211.30.212
rpcuser=blahblah
rpcpassword=blahblah
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rcpallowip=192.168.0.16
rcpallowip=192.168.0.10
rpcport=8108
port=7688
daemon=1
server=1
gen=1

why can't i mine from my laptop to this?

help please or sell rope + bridge for 0.5btc

edit: solo mining with client is fine.. i want to add my laptop

Whats your laptop's IP?
"rcpallowip=192.168.0.10"
add your laptop's IP there
Oh and Port=7688 does nothing. you should mine on rpcport=8108

p.s. i wouldn't recommend mining on a laptop.
Good Luck!

I think thats the case with all wallets. If it is encrypted you need to unlock it first.
(for PPC I am doing it with ppcoind, but for yac I haven't such on windows) so just don't encrypt

You will most likely get rejected on all of them..

Now I am getting some khash - 12 to be precise Tongue

Anyhow, got 6 transactions, 4 of which actually showed up as mined and then turned to orphans - weird. I though orphaned blocks won't show up as transactions.

CAN GPU  MINING?

You can only use their client for now until cudaminer, cgminer etc change their code for this coin.
