I bought in at $1.00. I've made $2.00 lol.

I wasn't going to invest because this seems so high risk, but I finally caved because I love the potential. I put in a small amount now and will consider putting in more if it continues to rise towards $1.50 or $2.00

how do you buy iota?
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If you've never bought any crypto, easiest way is to sign up to coinbase, buy some btc. Then sign up to bitfinex and transfer the btc to your bitfinex. You can then use the btc to purchase IOTA.

The claiming process must be all messed up with the new seed update.
We'll probably have to start a new process all over again.
I hope it'll be managed properly "after the next update".
As long as iota aren't distributed, the owners not only made 0 ROI but lost 100% of their investment and missed all other opportunities in crypto since 2015.

Well let's see if the work is done this time.

I will refund you your original amount in this case. Give me your bitcoin address.

This would not address the "missed opportunities" issue. Perhaps a better solution is to quickly distribute the iotas so that we can concentrate our energy on other topics, for instance the iota project, by the way ! May be I am wrong but I believe that the early investors should be treated correctly.

To have this on record:

As advised, I have just sent david my new IOTA address, my name and residential address with proofs.

anything else needs to be done ?

It would be good to get acknowledgement from David or any of the IOTA team that "the request has been received and is being dealt with"
same for me.

Will there not be another major update soon? Maybe we should wait before spamming Iotatoken with new addresses...

Just be patient, it's all in our queue of tasks. While I hate to refer to it, I believe every single manual claimant is extremely happy with how things played out. The likelihood that you'd keep all of your iotas and wait for anything even remotely close to current market cap before selling is zilch, and we all know it. Because of this I feel like my words should bear sufficient gravitas when I tell you not to worry; the current value of your pending imminent iotas are DIRECTLY a cause of how we do shit, so let us do what we do, and soon you'll be EXTREMELY happy that you had no influence over our decisions.

You are most probably right.

Thanks for the feedback iotatoken. Beyond exchange rates, prospects for IOTA indeed look better than ever, amazing work & vision.
As for us "leftovers", I'd say we were late at converting just because we never thought of selling Smiley
Now a bit worried at the thought of stupidly loosing our stack though...

Hello My IOTAS are on Unreclaimed during round 2.

Sent several emails to david, which I haven't received response, to read as follows:

Hello again David.

They say must provide you ID identification and Full address, for KYC policy in order to manual claim (ID is attached to this email):

<my address>

I'm writting again, because I've downloaded the new version of lightwallet (2.4.0 / IRI 1.3.1) and now the address that gave you to sent my iotas is diferent than the last one I sent to you.

By the way, I was able to find all my address on the snaptshot of 9th October of 2016 (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/domschiener/snapshot/master/snapshot.csv), "Unreclaimed during round 2".

Here they are (without their checksum, and the attached balance):

<all my addresses with iotas unclaimed>

My origin address is the first, and remember you the SEED from derived all addresses: <my seed>
My new address from v2.4.0, where you can send me the iotas is this: <my address on the new tangle>

Remember again, that I'll giving you the 1% of this IOTAS (0.05 GigaIota I guess) as a Donation for the Foundation,  for your time and efforts.

Please, could you give any kind of feedback?. Just answer this email to confirm that you received it.

Thanks in advance.

By the way, in my claim email sent to david, I have given an address compatible with version 2.1. Probably an error.

I suppose that I have to resend a claim email with an adress compatible with version 2.4 ?

I wish that when writing to David, or in slack, or public forums of iota, would get any kind of feeback from staff. Nobody answer me at any place, since several weeks ago...

I hope get here any attention. I don't now where to go if here fails  Cry

David has never directly replied to any of my emails either, given it was an arbitrary time limit on the claim yet nothing has happened it is difficult to be certain he has what he needs to process the claim.

He has given assurance that he will get around to these and I believe he has said he will email if there is a complication

I think we give them the benefit of the doubt for a bit longer as they do have a lot on their plate and we would all rather a happy result with this.  That said, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them to share an update on what their timelines/backlog is before getting around to restoring people's funds... heck even just confirming if people need to send new addresses would be reassuring the process is still taking place.

For what it's worth I've spoke to a lot of people who haven't received their funds yet, I've only indirectly heard one person getting their funds restored but I'm rather skeptical they were just trolling because they offered no proof and was a new unheard of account.

David said in slack he's still too busy to process these.
My balance remains at 0,
Also not heard anyone reputable getting their money back as of yet.
That's all I've heard so far.

Does anyone here have a take on the overall percentage of outstanding payments? judging by this thread I would assume it is a widespread issue?

All the numbers are in my post on the first page of this thread. In short: it's not a widespread issue.

Thank you Come-from-Beyond. If that is in fact all the open claims, that's not too many.  Smiley
