Then I've tried again converting my original "now invalid format" Old Seed to a "compatible format" Old Seed: changing any digit diferent from 9 to 9, lowercase to uppcase, and filling with 9's at the end in otder to get a 81 characters long seed.

It has given me a transaction tag and a "proof of transaction confirmed message"

If you've never bought any crypto, easiest way is to sign up to coinbase, buy some btc. Then sign up to bitfinex and transfer the btc to your bitfinex. You can then use the btc to purchase IOTA.

I got a problem, I've been running the reclaim tool for a couple of hours now, it's still in the process of sending. Is this to be expected?

I have not still received any iota.  My claim address just contains 20 iota resulting from a test transfer from bitfinex. I don't know the reason of this new delay: technical, legal, psychological or perhaps, as CFB wrote in a previous post, just the fact that David is very busy, which I can understand. However, probably as all other claimers, I feel a big frustration.

This I used in the reclaim tool. As you can see I tried it several times in the last months.

Still nothing. Despite all the "blog posts" and "news" A LOT of people are still missing their IOTA.

Does it matter if the new IOTA adress is attached to the tangle ? It seems that it does not matter but I would like to be sure.

Brilliant idea, might be worth bringing a film crew to make a PSA and will inevitably increase the priority on getting these reclaims done.  I'd certainly be happy to share this among my channels.

David has informed me that a major reason for the delay particularly related to MsCollec who sent David several different "new receive addresses", latest 12 hours ago. David will send to the one provided during KYC.

I don't think so, at least running an old wallet doesn't connect to any valid nodes anymore so you can't verify your balance.  It feels a bit of a blackbox tbh.

I have run the "Reclaim tool" and, as ozboom (see post 330), my old seed has been accepted only after having switched its lower case letters to upper case.
My proof transaction has been quickly confirmed.

I converted to uppercase and added 9's to the end of it to fill to new seed length of 81 characters. It seems some have just converted to uppercase.

If they can seize peoples funds on a whim and redistribute them, they can almost certainly credit new accounts in a snapshot too.  Its not like they need to ask anyone’s permission when they control the snapshots
