No... you can't call a country simple when they keep 350,000 political prisoners in labor camps, in appalling conditions. Also, you need to remember that they are one of the few nations in the world which possess nuclear weapons and ICBMs.

I think North Korea have every right to have nuclear weapons. Just because america doesn't agree with them, why are they wrong to defend themselves? If there was oil in the country, american would have invaded them by now.

thinking about my north korean country there is little knowledge about that country. North Korea has foreign cultural restrictions that enter the country, such as fast food in the form of kfc, mcdonald starbacks and so on we can not find in the country.jean jeanswhich we often use will not be encountered in the country. nuclear weapons problems that reportedly exist but there is no proof .

From where did you got this news? I searched all the major news sites, and I can't find anything related to this. On the other hand, from what I have heard, North Korea has agreed to freeze its nuclear program.

For the first time ever, the North Korean leader crossed on to South Korea, to meet the RoK president.  There are indications that Kim Jong Un may visit Seoul in future.

Yes, we all should be alarmed. It is a form of threat for everyone where they put risk in people. It is not a great move but what's great move is the recent event where the presidents of North and South Korea meets in the boundary of the two said countries. It is a great move for the country for the start of peace of the two countries. Hoping that North Korea would continue those moves towards peace.

Just saw it released on the news today North Korea has officially ended the war they have with the South.
It was posted on multiple news outlets as well and showing both sides presidents shaking hands as part of the deal.
This should be viewed as a pact right?
Of course Trump is saying it was because of his influence on both of those two countries.

I am a supporter of Trump, but his role was pretty limited in this pact. It was made possible only after both the North Korean leader (Kim Jong Un) and the South Korean president (Moon Jae In) made solid concessions with their political positions. In particular, I'd say that it was a brave move by the much vilified North Korean leader Kim.

North Korea is only a threat to South Korea and no one else. At the start of last November, America began posturing for war against North Korea and Syria. Like the RSII-Coalition, North Korea believed that deterrence would work, since disarmament proved ineffectual for Libya. Two weeks later, China was pushing the US to agree to a Double Freeze de-escalation and denuclearization with North Korea, as South Koreans protested in the streets for peace. The Double Freeze agreement was vetoed by America, but after Trump visited South Korea the focus of military aggression switched from North Korea to Russia. North Korea does not have vast oil reserves, and Kim Jon-un just wants to survive and maintain his power, so there is no incentive for escalation other than fearmonger to the populace to justify increases in military spending. If North Korea went to war with the US then it would definitely be the result of a chemical false flag attack blamed on North Korea. Up until this year, when Turkey smuggled empty canisters into Syria or Al-Nusra kidnapped civilians from Ghouta and Douma and staged a sarin attack, the CIA and White Helmets would traditionally place the blame (preemptively) on Putin and Assad. So the fact that this month's latest chemical false flag attack (in which no one died) has been blamed on Putin and Assad (rather than on a prank played on people suffering from hypoxia in a waiting room), indicates that the US is no longer focused on escalating against North Korea due to South Korea's strong economic ties to China and NATO.

Denuclearization could change this, but the fact that Kim Jong-un is willing to enter South Korea and negotiate face-to-face with President Moon indicates that he now feels safe enough to give up his deterrence strategy. Both leaders were smiling and confident, which means that military tension is low. If Kim Jong-un felt threatened by anyone, he would not be visiting South Korea, and President Moon would not be visiting North Korea.

The leaders of both North & South Korea literally crossing borders, shaking hands, and talking face-to-face was the best diplomatic move they could have made, and a confident step towards peace in East Asia.

North Korea would not launched Ballistic Missile just for nothing. To be be honest, I do not have many information known about Missiles that is why I cannot explain what are the possible effects of these today or in the future. Thus, I'd like to think that we shouldn't be paranoid about the said launching of Ballistic Missile. However, there is no harm in being alarmed especially that we are doing it for the sake of self-learning and awareness and not for us to make false accusations to North Korea. This issue of concern is a responsibility of the authority of expertise in the field to explain and resolve. It is their duty to assure people that nothing bad will happen, if really  there's none. And it is their obligation to solve this if there's something bad that will possibly happen.

I feel bad for the North Koreans. They have been suffering now for decades and they have got a really ruthless leader. But I don't support the Americans as well. They are just provoking the tensions in the region.

North Korea just launched its Ballistic Missile. Should the world be alarmed?

This question is even more interesting to ponder now, 10 months after it was initially posted.  As we all know, the recent charm offensive by North Korea's dictator, Kim Jong-Un, is an interesting development to ponder.  Why is it happening now, when just a little more than six months ago, President Trump and Kim were trading very undiplomatic barbs with each other and the relationship seemed to be fast-tracked to a destination that most people would prefer to not contemplate -- war on  the Korean peninsula that could escalate to the nuclear level.  Now, they are in the process of preparing for the first ever summit between a US president and the leader of North Korea.

Why the change?  It's hard to put one's finger on it, but I think there are several possibilities:

1)  Trump's rhetoric actually scared Kim, his senior leadership and, quite possibly, the North's main sponsor, the Chinese, into believing that the world was indeed careening to nuclear or conventional war in the Koreas, with possible spillover into China and that a drastic change of course is necessary;
2)  Kim finally has accepted that the economic mess he presides over is on the verge of collapse, cutting short his rule and his life at the hands of an angry North Korean elite;
3)  Kim believes he is in a strong position to bargain with the USA for an outcome that favors the North, in general, and Kim's objectives, in particular; or
4)  The Chinese have convinced Kim that he has a lot more to gain from instituting a form of crony state capitalism similar to China's and working with South Korea and the USA, rather than against them.

Just some thoughts.  Any other perspectives out there?

The world faces more danger from the other fat guy (Donald Trump). That said, I would never take someone with access to ICBMs and nuclear weapons lightly. And I don't think that a complete disarmament of North Korea is ever going to take place. At the most, Kim Jong Un may give up his nukes.

Currently, Korea has announced the closure of nuclear reactors. That's good news for the whole world. I hope that such statement in the future will come true, people live in peace, prosperity and happiness.

I'm not sure northern korea can threaten the banking world, because what I know north korea is just a communist country led by the regime of dictator kim jong un, which always closes the outside media. There are many Koreans who are poor because the money is used for alutista. They are also depressed so many of them seek political asylum to neighboring countries. if it has recently challenged the United States only because of the good of America so that north korea is not destroyed, maybe the Americans pity the civilians in korut so as not to be attacked
