The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

None were sure about the reality. Lots of hypes as well panic is going around the entire network. I have never concerned about it, let it happen and simultaneously things will come to effect. I just focus on holding my asst in the form of bitcoin for a better profiting as growth continues even if something bad happens on segwit.

No one really knows what will happen. There's a lot of fear, panic and speculation. The safest thing to do is to take your bitcoins offline while awaiting to see what will happen. But does that mean that I should trade in all my alt coins for BTC and withdraw everything to my offline wallet now? I'm not sure to be honest,

It depends on the situation I guess, and which proposal gets activated. In current circumstances it's very likely that we'll be experiencing an activation of the Segwit2x proposal, which has to happen before the 1st of August. If that doesn't come through for whatever reason, we'll be heading towards the UASF, which in this case might cause certain miners to fork off and follow their own route. I must however note that signalling for BIP141 is increasing, and has reached probably it's highest ever support level (currently 59%). Definitely an interesting development.

The next step after Segwit is smart contracts and the lightning network. If you're talking about price wise no one knows, but my best guess is it will continue with adoption and gradual price growth.

Now, how Segwit is activated depends on the BIP that is implemented.

If BIP 141 gets activated, then Segwit gets implemented and the above would happen.

If BIP 148/UASF gets activated, then Segwit gets implemented by ignoring all non Segwit mined blocks after its timed activation date on August 1st. After this I'd think there will be some kind of separation between miners and users, and a price drop following. after a while, the above would happen.

If Segwit2x gets activated, then Segwit gets implemented normally but with the stipulation that 90 days after activation there will be a Hardfork to increase block size to 2mb. No one really knows what will happen after but some speculate there will be a battle between 2 existing Bitcoins.

I heard after the segwit the transaction will become faster, so for bitcoin the price will go up and there will be more people using it, if the transaction already fast, but some people pessimistic about segwit, so we can only wait and see how will be the result

There is so many speculation about what happen after segwit. Some people tell us about the deeply down of bitcoin price, and also some people optimistic with the climbing price after the segwit. I don't want to trust any of them since I don't really know what segwit really is. I only make my self comfortable with any news about bitcoin price and just hold my btc. Yes, hold it until this noise faded, no matter what will happen, is it rise or down. One thing that I know is, it never lose to keep.

Faster in what way? Faster in terms of transaction speed? I doubt it will add any significant change as transactions post almost instantly already. If you're referring to confirmations, then it's not really a matter of getting faster confirmations, but more that with the larger blocks that SegWit will be operating, more transactions can fit into a block, and thus will allow to process/settle more transactions than is the case right now.

I'm still not convinced SEGWIT will kick in - any time it seems like a scaling solution is coming something always seems to come up to stop it happening.

I'm cautiously optimistic things will be different this time.  I think the compromise of SEGWIT followed by a block size increase offers something to most parties, and I'm hoping when/if all that locks in BTC will see another price surge.

There are speculations that the market value of Bitcoin will increase after 1st August but in some other quarters some are saying the market value of Bitcoin will decline if 1st August meeting go against bitcoin.  But all the same, if the outcome is against bitcoin with time the market value of Bitcoin will still increase and if it comes out in favor all is for good. Am optimistic that the market value of Bitcoin will increase more than the current value after 1st August meeting.

As many of us don't know what will happen after segwit..

One question raised in my mind,
Does my bitcoin safe in hot wallets and exchanges before/after segwit?

Does my bitcoin safe in hot wallets and exchanges before/after segwit?

In general, if Segwit happens to activate and a chain split for whatever reason becomes reality, the far majority of exchanges and services will show full support for Segwit, and thus discard the altcoin chain. So yes, your coins are safe in most cases. In order to be exactly sure how the exchanges and services you are using will act in these circumstances, best will be to contact them if they haven't already released a statement regarding this matter. The worst that can happen if you leave your coins elsewhere, is that you'll likely miss out on the altcoin in case of a chain split, but that shouldn't really bother you.

What will happen after SEGWIT?
Read this and you will understand what is segwit and how it works.
https://bitcoincore.org/en/2016/01/26/segwit-benefits/

Segwit gives a lot of benefit to the bitcoin in the on or off chain development. Segwit also increasing the blocksize of the bitcoin to the 2MB as far as I know that makes the block can process the more transaction. Or the block can validate the more transaction in every second.

That was a good information that can happen but no one know what will accurately happen of that day its just some rumors about bitc transaction effects and fees . I only know is to hold my bitcoins and wait for that segwit .maybe its a good or a bad thing that can happen.

no, there is no reason for a "must flash crash" and there never will be.
i am afraid the opportunity to buy cheap coins below certain prices like below $2100 is no longer going to come to us. we are not so lucky any more.

to the moon with bitcoin...

Indeed my friend, it's not the time getting afraid about the SEGWIT and loose assets because of it. Even BIP148 and SEGwit getting into effect will split the bitcoin but they won't effect to price I guess. So I don't think we have to worry about this situation. I'm completely free to face this.

yes that is very right we do not need to afraid from SEGWIT.  that is noting is going against bitcoin price. i am sure that bitcoin price will boost again after 1st August and currently the bitcoin investors are not letting bitcoin down they are holding bitcoin and therefore the price of bitcoin is too much stable.
