I feel devastated by DO. I signed up to DeepOnion about a month ago and got rejected from AirDrop. I was told to be more active and contribute more to the community which I have done. I was doing actually more then I supposed to. I translated rules to my native language here and on DO forums too. You can check back my posts here and on DO forum aka aka26. Anyway, after I put lots of ours of my time with a hope to join airdrop, suddenly they suspended application due to make changes to it. Now I have got to buy 100 ONIONS to be able to qualify. If I knew this after I signed up I would have done differently. It was unfair and unprofessional to make me buy ONIONS after all this. I'm sure I'm not the only fustrated member having the same feelings. I do like the community and worry about being destroyed with these changes.

I have got to mention that after all I have tried to re-apply and got auto-accepted. Although,according to the new rules I still got to have 100 ONIONS.
 My appoligy if I'm wrong here and missing out something.

I'm guessing DeepSend comes out this week or next, it is the last thing for this quarter on the roadmap.

I know that the new system has a lot of criticisms, and there are certainly ups and downs to ANY system the team decides upon, however I believe that this new system will allow the team to focus on more important things.  I know for the few around that are unable to acquire the 100 ONIONs that this will be a frustrating time, but I'd give some patience to the mod team, and look to the community forums for ways to get it.  There are ways to get ONIONs everywhere there!

Can anyone tell me what the "off topic" section means in the new airdrop rules? I understand you have to post in the DeepOnion forum itself, something I've been doing for a while, and posting op bitcointalk.org. What exactly is the off topic section? Never heard of that

edit: if you doesn't have any. If you have 100 or more, you don't have to buy.

That is simply the off topic subforum both here on bitcointalk forum and on DeepOnion Forum.
Posts on every other subforum with minimum 50 characters count towards the airdrop.

Effectively more onions you have in your wallet, more you will receive in the airdrop. If you have several wallets better put it all in a single wallet because the reward is directly related to the amount you have without moving in this wallet

I believe so, there will be point in time where your wallet address will be checked. So if you sell all of them you must make sure to buy some back and put it back in your wallet again in the address you've registered here. I'm going to leave everything the way it is, I'm a long time holder, as with most coins. Patience is rewarded I've noticed over the last few years.

It is not required to participate in the airdrop. Even if you do, all people know is your BTCTalk/DO forum identity.
The new airdop is like: "If you have some, you get more for free". So it is still free. The change in rules is because people tried to game the "really" free system.

At deeponion talk, I launched a poll to investigate how many onions you would sell after 16th airdrop. Current results:
1. less than 10%, 2 people, accounting for 4%;
2., more than 50%, 1, accounting for 2%;
3. will not sell, 47 people, accounting for 94%.

Yes, honesty is a problem, and one problem is that people who are really trying to sell a lot may not be involved in this poll.
However, in recent days, according to the new rules, there has been no 90% limit, but the volume is still not significantly enlarged, does this mean that a large number of sell-off may not occur temporarily?

The new rules, though they appear changed, have not changed the intentions behind the airdrops. More you have means more you get. So nobody will dump their coins, but rather buy if they can. As simple as that. But things will definitely get interesting moving forward.
