I think that the best wallet for an altcoin should be the coin's very own wallet. I feel like it is a whole safer, better, easier, and most convenient to use. A lot of these altcoins have their own wallets already, so if you are going to store them, why not store them up in their wallets? There are also some good wallets that are designed for multiple altcoins though.

My advice would be to get a hardware wallet that supports the coins that you have and for the coins that is not supported, make sure that you get their official wallet, one which you control the private key to so you can keep it safe.

In my opinion for cryptography the best wallet is Ethereum. For me, it is better to transfer altcoins to ethereum and store them in a MEW wallet.
