In my opinion, bitcoin remains a top priority in terms of the best investment in cryptocurrency, but it is undeniable that Ethereum has great potential to continue growing in future and certainly not wrong to invest in Ethereal as the best altcoin.

Yes you are right, Bitcoin is still the best in terms of price and price increases. But if you ask about investments, cryptocurrency is not the best investment. There are still plenty of investments out there that are better and the benefits are certain. For example like gold and silver. The price of gold and silver always rise and never go down. Some people even think that keeping gold and silver better than keeping money in the bank. Money in the bank will experience fluctuations and impairment, while gold and silver if sold will generate a lot of money. Bitcoin remains the best, but some argue that the profit from Altcoin will surpass Bitcoin. We will see later.

When you mean by best investment is having your money doubled or tripled, No not yet.

If you want to invest a part of an ethereum for 100$ you need the whole value of ethereum be doubled in order for you to earn another 100$. But the good thing here is that ethereum is a safe bet. But try to look @ low value coins that are having a lot of potential. Check my review about one here.

At least that gives a huge return for us rather than nothing. but remember this too late to invest in ethereum. Why not invest in the ethereum at the previous year? when the price of each ether still worth some dollars.

Wait for the value of bitcoin to stabilize before the end of this year then buy some ethereum. Hope that bitcoin will get recognized again next year and the stabilize again for best results for your ethereum investments.

I think long term ETH has more to offer - they also have the stability within their development team which Bitcoin is finding so hard to maintain.

The development team is also the richest in the Blockchain scene (with something like $200m in assets!)

I think this alongside the fact that transactions are actually far quicker and that it's built for smart contracts means it's much more interesting to hold than Bitcoin.

Also there will be the metropolis release sometime next year, which among other new features, it will also start to phase out brute force PoW mining and opt for PoS which means that you'll be able to earn interest on the ETH you hold - I believe this will push the price up more so as there will no longer be more coins being released & holding coins can generate even more!

I'm very interested to see what happens in the next year for ETH, but I also do think if you invest it has to be for the long term, it doesn't get the press attention Bitcoin thrives on

It isn't the outright best investment you can make in crypto but then again you will never know at any moment in time. I would argue right now it is still a sound investment as there are lot of upgrades in the works mainly Casper coming out which will enable staking later this year hopefully.
