Mining $5.80 per day on a single 1070?

Someone on reddit was boasting that they are mining a coin that is producing $5.80 a day on a single 1070.  Does anyone know what coin that could be?  I would sure love to get on that train.

There is three solutions to your question :

-he is lying
-he mines a pumped coin and that will not last
-he mines a little cap coin, which, in case he sells what he mines, will make the price crash

To be honest, I do not believe much to his story. But of course I might be wrong, even though I doubt I am.

Yea I too am in the skeptical boat, but i am still new to mining.  I am on my third week and just got my second card running.  I don't want to miss out on something I could be doing better.

Small cap coin of some sort - there are a few that hit that kind of profitability for short periods.

The guy was probably mining ropecoin, to mine it you need to turn on your gtx 1070 and connect it to a rope, then as the gtx is running, the rope is also running and the reward is the ropecoin, the interest thing is, if you have too many ropecoins then the reward is you can commit suicide. free with them, reason many are earning $5.80 mining ropecoin, the ultimate value is the commitment of suicide which is worth thousands of dollars.

So it seems your friend has committed suicide or perhaps he is selling his ropecoin to others to help others to commit their suicides.

$5.80 a day before power costs sound doable to me for sure if you're on the right coin. $5.80 per day after power costs is still probably doable, although although if he's been mining the same coin since Jan. I doubt it's been $5.80 the entire time.... there are certainly plenty of coins that aren't well known so I am inclined to say his story is definitely plausible.

i think know what coin he has been mining if he's not just Bs'ing haha as i have been mining one with same profitbility, tho i could have swore PoW only started around March for my coin...

there's coins, you just gotta find them, and their usually Nvidia algo dominate (in my experience)

Also, keep in mind we dont really SAY these coins publically, as it causes a doggypile on it (as you can understand), which destroys all profits

also, the MOST profitable coins are NEVER on what to mine     --  remember that    (unless your a big farm then just stick to main coins haha)
