The site is working for me, but it looks like there are few real players there, two or three maybe, and no active tournaments.

I like the site but I think something should be done about its popularity. For some reasons people don't play on it although it was proved that the site is legit, several people in this thread confirmed that they withdrew their winnings successfully.

Positive reinforcement cycle based on the fact that there are few players on the site.
Small player-base -> Fewer players are inclined to come, which perpetuates the small player-base. This is exactly why it's difficult for new poker sites to start up and why promotions - even if they come - have to be massive in order to attract the 2-5% of people who will stick around instead of simply coming and going.

at one time the site itself (when freerolls and plenity of bots were around) we have peaks of 30-35 plys online at the same time including bots.
now there is a chance of creating a signature campaingn which I think is a good idea to spread the word over the forum with a surplus of rakeback offers with the signatures, I'm waiting for the service guys to send me the sigs and and see If we can develop together with BTCKings a signature campaingn.

Its the biggest problem with poker sites and sadly the only answer right now is to throw bad money into promotions to get a site buzzing.
But it also attracts lag to the site with the multiple accounts just there for a free lunch.

Tried the site a well back but the bot play soured me a bit and I understand why they where used and that the owner lost money creating action, but still it sits a little off with me.

Seeing so many sites come and go, I think as poker players we should almost group together and create some kind of mutual platform that we all have a share in.
It would be self policing in a way and would attract honest players, potentially, who knows.

Think instead of freerolls, you could set up some good bonus releases based on rake or hands. That would limit the freeloading of the site and maybe attract bigger players.

It has been suggested many times to almost new bitcoin poker sites but seems that they did not consider it as the main weapon for them to attract players. If this site is going to attract big players then the first thing they need to do is re-designing the whole site especially the software. Simple maven software wont attract big players imho, there were too many failed poker sites using default maven software in the last few years.

Advertising is missing here, maybe you should bid at the auction for adverts here in bitcointalk but is badly expensive.
Poker and gambling forums, there are many ways to advertise the site but money should be invested on it.
Maybe running a signature campaign as people suggested, maybe making daily or weekly raffles with your active players.

In my experience deposit bonuses with a plus of cool advertising should be working fine.

Just not enough players ever since they stopped the perpetual freerolls. Unless they pull something big soon, I fear the site will remain in darkness until dies.

Thanks all for your input. We are not looking to throw in more free promotions at this time. We are not sure it would benefit us long term, the only thing it would do is increase the traffic short term.

As far as software goes, we like Mavens. It is simple, fast and does what it's supposed to do very well. We, for example, don't like the betcoin.ag software at all. But to each his own.

The last post above yours clearly stated that OP is not going to offer promotion, seems that OP is giving up already. He do not know how to make a better traffic on his site. I'm no so surprised at all because most poker sites had the same problem. There were just too many examples but seems that people are not learning from the examples.

I was not asking for any kind of free promo more like to anything that brings some extra traffic. Thats it.

We wouldn't mind offering more freerolls etc if we believed this would have a long term positive EV. But we are not sure of that. What we've seen so far is: freerolls attract grinders who cash out and disappear the moment the promotion end. There are a few players who start new tables and play against each other, but most of the players we have never even deposited. We have 240 registered accounts and only about 15 ever made a deposit.

We know we could throw in another several hundreds of dollars and attract 20-30 real players, but they would most likely leave as soon as freebies are gone. So until we think of something creative you'll guys have to either play bots or not play at all.

15 deposits out of 240 accounts is around a 7% conversion rate from lead to FTD, that's not bad considering its a new site, and on pokermavens.
Just to be completely honest with you, I never thought the idea of running those Sit&Gos were a good idea, rather have MTT freerolls running 6 times a day should be fine. And have tournaments on points generated can also work nicely for a promo.

But If you don't mind me saying, the problem in my view comes from one thing - it seems that you are promoting BTCKings on bitcointalk only! Take that Freeroll money and start some paid advertising! try reddit, facebook, Instagram, buy media traffic, email marketing and just a/b test some different marketing verticals.

I hate pokermavens, but for some reason I actually enjoyed playing on btckings, I guess it was you and your crew. But players here are demanding more players and less bots. the more sign-ups youll bring in, I believe that your conversion will go up to a steady 10-14%

You have 100 sit&go tournaments with not 1 player. I would close all those down, and start that from scratch. MTT freerolls, not more then 6 per day with 1mbtc. that will attract a lot of freerollers, but its only 6 mbtc and it fills up the playerbase. and have 2-3 tournaments with point buy-ins. Besides that, try some paid marketing - ust like $300-$500 a week for 2 months. And see how things change.

You need a new angle.

I say this with the deepest respect.

Only 15 out of 240? So i'm one of those 15 players as I have made 1 small deposit some time ago to join a tournament. I'm still wondering why it is very hard to run a bitcoin poker sites while it seems to be so easy for fiat bitcoin poker sites. I'm regular player on local fiat poker sites, I have some reasons why I like to play on that site. First because it has so great interface and there are many jackpots that can be won at any ring games.

I'm another who have made quite a few deposits but on ev+ in overall, I've cashed more coins than deposited,
There is a tournament scheduled for September 30th, 20K chips added we just need to spread word about the tournaments and we may catch some traffic at least that particular day. I think also some advertising is missing inside and outside of bitcointalk.

We'll definitely try with MTT instead of S&G. And we might try some paid advertising as well. We'll start with MTT's on Tuesday, we just have to work out the optimal structure and frequency.

Thank you H4T for your continuous help and bringing new players in. You're doing a great job and your help and efforts are very appreciated!

@kid_dik, thanks, you're right, new sites are popping up every month
