I really hate the Christians. My tribe was submitted to genocide by the Christians, just because we refused to abandon our ancient religion (Hinduism). Our villages were burnt down, girls were raped, and elders were beheaded. Now most of the members are living as refugees in Tripura and Assam. Only those who are ready to convert are allowed to go back to Mizoram.

Thank you for this post. It led me to look at the wikipedia entry for Mizoram.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mizoram

Quite interesting. To be fair, though, the tribes seemed to have a long history of chopping off heads of neighboring tribes, before Christianity arrived with the British?

The same excuse given by the missionaries to destroy the indigenous culture. They claim that earlier all these tribal people were barbarians, and they were "saved" after the missionaries converted them to Christianity. There are still a large number of Hindu tribals living in Tripura and Assam. I haven't heard about any head hunting incident being reported from there for the last 100 years.
Hmm...

You think those reports were wrong or exaggerated, possibly for ulterior motives?

Don't really see a reason on hating the Christians in the least, plus I don't think it'd be fair to hate someone simply based on their religion without fully getting to know that person fully. It's like hating me without really meeting me, you're just going to have this pre-existing hate for me which isn't fair in the least.

I'd have to say this on a personal note based on the fact that I don't believe in all of the things that my religion believes in which is Christian, I may have some things which we do agree on and don't but that's no reason to hate a person.

Would like some explanation on why you're asking this sort of question.

I don't understand this kind of topics . Hate is not healthy feeling for human beings. Everyone has to choose  to love not to hate. I do not any human beings on earth. Christians, Muslims, Jews and any other believers are totally human so we must respect them.

Such themes are created for people to humiliate each other and compete in wit.
I, too, do not care which religion a person manages. I'm never interested in this and do not impose my opinion

Based upon personal experience, as well as statistics... Christians are NOT good people... most Christians are so in name only... they want to go to heaven, but they don't give a single fuck about being a good person... it's entirely selfish

Christians, by far, are the biggest criminals... just look at the prison statistics:

Atheists are 0.2% of the prison population
Christians are over 80% of the prison population! (catholic, protestant, church of christ, pentecostal, jehovahs witness, orthodox, mormon)

If Christians are so good... why are they always getting caught doing illegal shit? (not just minor stuff... we're talking federal "fuckYouInTheAss" prison)

How many pedophile priests do you need for evidence?  Have you heard about Hobby Lobby smuggling illegal goods?  How many homophobic preachers have been caught molesting little boys in hotels?

Many Christians feel like they can get away with any illegal activities, because they will go to heaven no matter what... it's a golden ticket to be evil and still go to heaven...

Christianity is such a stupid religion... it makes zero sense that a good person goes to hell because they are an atheist, yet some child rapist or murderer goes to heaven because they said a little prayer for 5 seconds... what sort of idiot god would make those rules?

^^^^ Christians are aorund 70% of the American population, and therefore I am not surprised that they are close to 75% of the prison population. But what about the Muslims? They are less than 0.5% of the American population and they constitute for more than 9% (Muslim + Moorish) of the prison population.

I suggest you go live in South Africa for a while, and see how you like being surrounded by non-Christians.

Report back after you've had enough.

Then go to Saudi Arabia, also non-Christian, and live for a while.

Please let us know then your views on comparative religion.

I really hate when someone defends their groups actions by "but this other groups is doing it too"

That is NOT an excuse for Christians behaving poorly

We're not talking about Muslims in this thread... there are plenty of threads talking about Muslims

Many Christians use their religion as a tool/excuse to hate on people of other religions, sexual orientation, color of their skin, etc

Cherry pick much?

How about the Netherlands/Amsterdam?  Like weed?  Those are 68%+ atheists

How about Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Japan, Canada, Finland, Australia, etc?

All of the best countries in the world are secular, not religious

Religious countries suck balls...

And, once again, pointing to another religious country like Saudi Arabia is NOT an excuse for Christians behaving poorly!!!

Is that all Christians can do to defend their actions?  Point their finger at Muslims?

Tough question.

In the Bible, there's loads of stuff that contradicts the other stuff.  Homosexuality is "detestable", and the homosexuals involved will "surely be put to death" - yet everyone should love each other.  It doesn't really make any sense as a whole, so people start digging into their own interpretations of it.

Furthermore, unlike the Qur'an the Bible is not believed to be the exact or direct word of God, so it could be subject to human error.

This leaves many Christians believing in one side of Christianity and that they are "true" Christians, while the others believe in the opposite side and that they are "true" Christians.  When people can believe in a wide variety of different things and still be regarded as Christian, the whole point of being Christian starts to fade away, and there's no clear line for whether the religion is right or wrong.

Therefore, I'd say that I don't hate Christians, because even within their own religion they have some of the freedoms with their beliefs on social issues that atheists enjoy.

However, I feel that many of these Christians are not sure of what parts of the Bible they're believing in, and get a bit muddled up.  They believe in God, and culturally that makes them feel that they are Christians.  In the same way, a person who grows up in a Muslim family and believes in God feels that they are a Muslim.

I would rather that these people simply said that they are theists, but this is not an objection to what they actually believe, rather to how they express it.

I identify as a Christian and I agree with your argument here. While I am in no way as religious as other, perhaps "true", Christians might be, I do at the very least hold the basic Christian values and traditions. In a way, it could be said that I am more of a cultural Christian than a religious one. There are definitely Christian people out there that go overboard and try to impose their beliefs in an ultimatum manner to others-- that is something I wholeheartedly disagree with and believe to be wrong. Even if changing other people's values were the final objective, the way that I see it being done--forcing it down people's throats--is very counter-productive since it just increases the friction that the person might hold against Christianity. There are definitely many different viewpoints even among Christians, and I assume the same for other religions, which is why stereotypes and generalizations are mostly wrong.

If so, why?

Yup... a lot of Christians have told me that I will go to hell if I don't adhere to Christianity (I don't believe in god, but I identify myself as a Hindu). I have faced a lot of discrimination from the Christians, despite living in an overwhelmingly Hindu-majority nation. These people are forcibly converting poor Hindus by threatening to throw their children out of schools if they don't convert (most of the schools in my area are run by the churches).

Friend of multiple Hindus here. While the topic does not often come into conversation, the few times we have spoken about religion, both sides have been open about it. As long as everyone stays respectful about the other's beliefs, there should be no conflict. Now, what you describe is something I have seen before, albeit I have not been a part of it myself. Some Christians might just want to go all the way into bashing other religions, but not all Christians are like that. As for me, for example, I believe that what these Christians have told you about going to hell if you are not a Christian is completely wrong. It feels as if these were Christian extremists.

Umm... what?

Isn't that the very basis of Christianity?

Christians go to heaven (via Jesus), and all others go to hell?

That is not an extremist view, it's the only view... if you don't believe that Christians go to heaven and all others go to hell, you are not a Christian... you're a deist or pantheist at best (believe in a god, but not the Christian god)

No, i dont hate people according to their religion i gave respect whatever they believe in. Religion is not a basis why you hate or dont like the people and i dont judge a person because of their religion. For me as long as a person has fear to God and has good attitude there is no reason to hate them.

These types of topics are started many times on this forum pointing some particular religions. Why would anyone of us hate any other person just because of his religion? If anyone do so then i will not call him a human because he don't have any concern with humans and humanity.

that's the point there, its been discuss several times even in another religion but still the issue was the same I think nothing will need any opinion
the only thing that's needed is to act as what you believe and none the less there should no other discussion bout this topic. just saying.

Hmm...

You think those reports were wrong or exaggerated, possibly for ulterior motives?

Christian missionaries have always spread misinformation about Hindus and Hinduism, so I won't be surprised if the head hunting story is also another myth spread by them. Hindu tribals living in Assam (belonging to the same tribe) don't practice any of these rituals now. It was education, and not Christianity, which eradicated evil practices.

i respect all religion in this world, religion has been come to show the way of life to everybody, but must of the religion has been contaminated or populated. so we have to find out the actual way of life by reading and seeking in many different religious books and another different way. so it is not wise to hate a religion without finding any fault or fabrication...

Christian here, where are you getting that? I don't believe what you said yet I still consider myself a Christian. The churches I've gone to also preach the same thing. Just because you aren't Christian doesn't mean you are going to hell. Feel free to call me whatever you want, but what you are doing is in the same vein as saying that if you aren't in ISIS you aren't practicing Islam. It's mindsets like this that harm the world and create stereotypes and generalizations.

By definition, a Christian is simply someone who believes in Jesus Christ. No more, no less.
