I've brought up this point before as well. And half of the ICOs apparently don't even offer alt coins but just tokens or shares or whatnot (though I don't look too much into them). I don't think theymos will kill that section either because of the amount of traffic it generates. I don't mind the alt coin section as it was created to keep the alt coin crap in its own little quarantine and I largely stay out of it, but with ICO campaigns that spam is spread out over the entire forum which shouldn't be acceptable.

Correct, it doesn't really keep it in its own little quarantine because they all just leave and roam the forum posting crap to get their bounties or whatever marketing they need to do. In addition, they build up their account status and have an optional bonus waiting for them at the end through account selling which then opens up a market of accounts for larger scammers.

New rule?  No Altcoin/ICO advertising in signatures

Would it not be easy to blank out/block a signature if any link inside of the signature links to any thread under the altcoin subforums? ... making this a somewhat mod-free approach.

They will just cloak the links. Most urls go to off site anyway. Theymos said he can blacklist entire campaigns signatures but this has been requested several times since we came up with the sig guidelines thread but so far nothing has been removed.

Yes I agree with you we also should ask google to ban billions of people searching using their search engines Cheesy but after a few days it will be no longer google as we know it today, when you see useless posts in important and main boards just report for mods to remove, other than that forum needs the posts counts/ activities and the traffic.
Now you agree with me or not?

Good point. There would be ways to deal with this for url shorteners but there are plenty that establish their own external sites and link to them.

If the rule was accepted, maybe a 'report signature' link and just leave it up to other members to report altcoin/ICO advertising sigs to mods?

And, maybe a bit extreme, but why not just disable external links in signatures all together?  Force all signature links to stay within the forum. Inspires more local traffic on the forum and would allow the aforementioned block of any signature linking to the altcoin section. I would think this may also create a desire for real advertisers to want banner spots on the forum to have a better chance at driving traffic to their own websites and sort of requires them to maintain a thread on the forum as well, if they want to advertise through signatures.

Actually what's wrong with legend and signature campaigns?
If people abuse their rankings by spamming or scam just ban them, is not that easy?
Anyway, all any signature campaign has rules and if the rules are violated just ban them, is not that easy?
Why close the ICO campaign? Does the ICO campaign make a big mistake in this forum so it should be destroyed?
I really do not understand with all this, I just want to be longer in this forum, but it seems impossible.

Nothing specific with legendaries, but some signature campaigns cause a lot of spam.

If people abuse their rankings by spamming or scam just ban them, is not that easy?

Sounds easy but there's a lot of spammers and not many mods. Hard to prove a scam as well.

Anyway, all any signature campaign has rules and if the rules are violated just ban them, is not that easy?

The problem is that the ICO campaigns generally don't have many rules/they aren't very strict on the rules, so people aren't removed.

Why close the ICO campaign? Does the ICO campaign make a big mistake in this forum so it should be destroyed?

If it's poorly managed and filled with spammers, I would say yes.

I really do not understand with all this, I just want to be longer in this forum, but it seems impossible.

Maybe because you might be a spammer yourself? I didn't understand that sentence very well. You realize you can post without a signature campaign.

Banning legendaries is quite useless and if someone wanted to not 'promote', they can delete their old posts and delete activity, causing them to stay Hero Member forever.

I think Legendaries are the least of concern. It's the legions of shitposters from developing nations with dozens of accounts each trying to earn a living when they can't even speak English that are the problem and the shitcoin campaigns that will happily pay them to do so.

Every single time there is an easy thread to reply to, spammers flock to it. Lending threads by newbies. Account auction threads that are "missing information". Obvious scams. Gambling scripts. And anything in Gambling discussion that asks a vague question.

Check out this thread: https://archive.is/jl8aS

They continually repeat the same thing: "this strategy won't work for long". I find that the FortuneJack campaign never returns anything of value.

i must say it is a joke  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
It is not a joke for me. If he was started from 50k satoshis, he made good profit from that. But i can say he is too confident/optimism his startegy will always works.

All these bots are a waste of your time and electricity. Just to earn so small amount, you want to run your computer for 8+ hours?
Try to buy a VPS.

ICO.

Strategy again. For sure this will not last forever and the guy for sure just showed a portion where he did profit. No strategy can beat the house, that is a fact you cannot change! The house will win in an infinite number of games.

↑ Disregarding the first reply to the thread, this one is essentially the only one that contributes 'unique content'. From now on it's a cesspool of recycling. If only they recycled in real life half as much!
So do you think you can win always on dice game? I think not and your strategy is working on you for a short period of time and im pretty sure that it wouldn't work for you and anyone again since as i know dice game stats and rolls are randomly occur so for that theres no chance for to earn a 100% winning strat and win frequently on them since dice game totally got 50/50 chances for bettor to win on that game.

Typical chunk of low-effort information. ICO.

No matter what strategy you will end up losing your balance at one point and its ridiculous that you are selling such strategy for 0.1BTC when we have many better strategies available for free at Dicebot site https://bot.seuntjie.com/Scripts.aspx
The more you play the more you will expect to lose.

Repetition.

-snip-

That's right, he's getting a small profit from his new tactics. And he rushed to boast that here, and I felt uncomfortable about it. Do not talk about any tactics when playing gambling, it only works for a short time, and soon after, you can lose all the money you have. Remember that there is no perfect strategy.

Repetition, agreement, ICO.

-snip-

Of course! He just showed only the best part of his gambling activity. For sure he just wants people to believe his strategy so if anyone would really win he would get tips or even referrals. The statement "there is no perfect strategy" is an understatement! There is NO real working strategy in gambling!

Repetition, agreement, FortuneJack.

This is just a way of promoting his bots for strategy making in gambling activities. This is not a perfect thing that gets the users good earning, because the promotion just has shown the chart where the strategy wins and if the entire play chart is shown. This might get clear that it's a failed strategy.

Recycling, agreement, ICO.

-snip-
Actually OP just sharing about strategy on dice gambling. You're right this is not a best way to take good earning.
But why not, there's worth to try. Anything strategy can't able to guarantee a win. But just think how you can be winner on casino (Thing your goal about gambling).

Recycling, agreement, ICO.

[OP]
well this is good really, but its take very long time Undecided

ICO.

maybe you only get lucky  Grin
if i try the strategy i get lost  Cheesy
good luck for you

ICO.

These replies should be trashed, the thread should be trashed, and they should have their post count permanently lowered by 50. That'll teach them.

All of the above quotes were consecutive, by the way. So it's a consecutive string of bullshit replies.

EDIT: And of course, someone revives this scam thread with their idiocy. (Flippybit.io)

So what? Aside from him being a global moderator, it's a normal participant of this forum with similar interests as many of the other members around here.

If you have the balls, post from your main account the next time. Or are you afraid of people here noticing that you're participating in a signature campaign as well?  Wink

Hard to prove a scam as well.
That's complete bullshit, and it's that kind of attitude that keeps people craving the status quo around here.  Really?  Hard to prove a scam?  There are so many members of this forum who've been proven to be scammers, and the problem is not in the proof.  The problem is with the administration not wanting to do anything about it.  I know of no other forum that tolerates scammers.  This one shouldn't either, IMO.  The bottom line is that they probably increase traffic and that's good for whoever makes money off this forum.  It's sad.

The signature campaign I am in, if I post the max amount of posts its enough to pay my rent, so I do think its "pennies" if I was in yobit I could pay my rent and cell phone, if I was in bitcoin AG I could pay my rent cell phone and probably food for the month but that might be stretching it and I am in NJ. I can just imagine how people in foreign countries make off signature camps.

You're either bullshitting us...have several accounts in signature campaigns...or still live with your parents.

No advertised rate for the 777 campaign pays anything close to what rent costs in New Jersey, USA. At least you admit that its "pennies"...even though it contradicts everything else you say.

I rent a room, and which is 300 a month and there are about 4.3 weeks in a month, so do the math, it does. But I only got the price of 300 a month because I paid 6 months in advance but still

Instead of answering, why not post from your real account, you post other nonsense?? hilariousandco post was quite long and I'm not going to quote it, but it IS WISE and isn't spam (which is what your 2 posts are Roll Eyes)

To answer the OP:

I think Newbies and the farmed/shitposting accounts should be banned from campaigns.  Because:

When I see newbies/farmed/shitposting accounts promoting something.......I instantly am turned off.  If the campaign doesn't care about the quality of users they sure as hell don't care about their product.

I look down on those who are "Campaign Managers" who allow these newbies/farmed/shitposting account.  It's not hard to see a shitty CM running a shitty campaign is involved in other shitty shit here  Roll Eyes

Don't get me wrong, I do like the campaigns and don't look down on those who properly and actively participate (they do help get the word out).  I just hate the garbage posts that come from an ILL ran campaign.

Yeah hi, wake the fuck up.  It's not pennies we're talking about once you reach hero status.   It definitely adds up, and if you're going to be posting here anyway--why not?  What you're basically saying is that legendaries shouldn't have a need for extra income.  That makes no sense to me and I think you're just trolling.

So much this. I understand not wanting newbies or JR members/members to be in a campaign because they likely don't know anything and just post garbage. But they get banned from campaigns pretty quick for that so we have that mechanism in place.

I feel the same way. I came back like 7 weeks ago and was Sr Member and recently became Hero. I will continue posting here and reading here, so why not get some extra on the side? I don't use facebok/twitter anymore because it makes money for them(they get ad revenue).

OP is probably just trolling or spamming a "thoughtful looking post" to get their post quality up, though it is a stupid justification imo.
