I just want to get this off my chest lol.  I feel like the NYC website needs to be upgraded and look more appealing to viewers.  I'm glad we have a website tho, but it just need to be spiced up some more.   Huh

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I would still like to know what the heck the main purpose of this coin is? What service does this coin offer or what specific feature or what cause does it serve?

obviously it's fast transactions, 30 sec per block, that can be usefull for small offline traders and other prompt payments
And yes, NYC is for NYC. After all it's seems that coin has a potential to skyrocket very soon
These are the major for me.
Maybe someone could point out other advantages arising form tech side of the coin?

I don't want to be rude, but anything you mentioned as a feature or advantage of this coin is literally worth nothing on a competitive scale. I was always wondering why anyone would pay attention to this?

May i ask then, what are you considering to be features or advantages worthing smth on a competitive scale?
He's just basically suggesting bringing something new to the crypto table that will interest investors and traders; just like when these coins started coming out with masternodes and etc.  New features and ideas with good purposes will skyrocket any coin.   Cool

30-second blocks proven since March 2014.

This is best feature any crypto can have. SPEED AND CONVENIENCE. Once crypto is real and used (not just speculative investment) this real-life feature will propel the value of NYC much much higher.

Hey everybody we seem to have a problem and possibly a fork. I have had several deposits to Coingather not arrive despite being on the blockchain with tons of confirmations. I am also receiving regular dumps from the Hobbyiust pool ok every 15 minutes, and can also solo mine ok.

Coingather is looking at the issue right now, and it looks like they have disabled deposits and withdrawals on NYC, which is a good thing until this is fixed. Bottom line is avoid depositing until we know this is fixed.

This is part of the problem having only one exchange. While Coingather has been a great place to trade NYC we really need another exchange to strength this coin. This coin is not going to fly very far or very high with only one exchange.

Thanks for pointing this out to us man plus I saw your comment in the comment box on Coingather.  Hope they resolve your issue fast.  And you're sure right, we mos def need another exchange.  I've sent out a request to BleuTrade and waiting for a response, so hopefully I'll get a response as soon as possible.   Cool

Ok so another exchange is well needed, but the thing is we don't wanna get listed just on any exchange.  We want a good exchange that has good volume.  But according to NYC trading volume right now and since we're just getting started, we are not ready for Bittrex and Poloniex quite yet, so BleuTrade is at the top of my list, but what do you guys think about cryptopia.co.nz Exchange, I think it's a pretty decent exchange??

Cryptopia is one of the best, but also one of the most picky. I suspect it will be no go, the dev team is non existent.

Two other exchanges I can think of right now are Coinexchange.io and Livecoin.net, they seem to be ok, I never had a problem with either ??

I think we should wait for bittrex or poloniex. I prefer poloniex, think it's larger and that's where NewYorkCoin should be. Maybe we'll get some good news soon.  Wink

Then allknowingeye  (and her NOT other aliases) can complain about their NYC not arriving. Only one to have the problem - lol

NYC (24 hr) trading volume over $4,000

I will be removing coingather buy link from nycoin.net
That exchange is not helping NewYorkCoin
If anyone knows what exchanges coinmarketcap is using for their 24 hr stats, please advise

I love both bittrex and poloniex, either one would be good but both would be better.  Wink

Neither bittrex nor poloniex are going to happen unless you cough up some serious change which any "REAL" backer would up.
Saying Coingather is not helping this coin is extremely ridiculous. Without Coingather this is coin is Toast.
You should be grateful for all they have done for this coin.

I think everyone should send a thank you note to Coingather for providing the only place this coin can be traded.
I certainly thank them myself.

There is really a lot to be done, our Website is empty, it needs more work details that stimulate people to get interested in the currency, look at the Dopecoin website, the development of the work of the page must be well done and elaborated, for whom Really, here was the well-crafted project.

NYC UPDATE IS ALMOST COMPLETE

MERCHANT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN COMING SOON IN NEW YORK CITY

Want to help the price of NewYorkCoin increase?

1. Search online for businesses in New York, New York and Brooklyn, New York in YOUR language. If english, then you can call ALL businesses in NYC

2. Ask for owner/manager and just talk to them about bitcoin AND newyorkcoin. Be an advocate of digital currency, decentralized banking, anonymous transactions, low fees, peer-to-peer worldwide network, fast transactions, easily exchange for USD (coinbase, poloniex)

3. After explaining bitcoin to them: NewYorkCoin is much faster sending/receiving than Bitcoin. NYC is bitcoin's younger brother. On the litecoin fork. Launched/born in 2014 vs 2009. Huge upside potential with NewYorkCoin. Now worth tiny fraction of a cent - next year WHO KNOWS!

4. Want to post a small bitcoin/newyorkcoin sticker on your door? NYC FOUNDATION will give you 10M NewYorkCoin for free!

This is right, but people have not really found its value, such as the early BTC
