Nope it is risky as we don't know if the devs are serious in making their projects longterm. Other devs no longer continue their projects after their coin's ICO meaning they scammed investors so it is better to seriously check the backgrounds of any coins.

ICO is the best way to lose your money if the project is fraudulent  and the team doesn't meet their ICO targets.Your investment is basically gone if the ICO fails.You cannot predict anything actually.It's literally a hit or miss situation.
