why did the price spike over last 4 hours am i missing something?

PalmBeach suggested 2 cryptos - ripple and second (hidden name yet) - it was about zencash.

Could someone quickly tell what that PalmBeach stuff is about and why it matters so much for Zencash? I missed the information.

They called another coin early on which mooned, so they have the ear of people. Surprised it took that for people to take notice of ZEN.

What does that mean? Like did they call some coin to be their own creation or what? I don't understand what you are saying.

They essentially recommend a coin (monthly) to invest into that they predict will be successfull in the future. That brought a lot of attention from people who weren't aware of Zencash.

Zencash doesn't need any people to make weird predictions. It's rock solid on its own. And a lot of people already realized the great tech of Zencash or otherwise it wouldn't be a $50 million coin.

I agree completely, believe me I've been mining Zen almost since launched and have accumulated a good amount. I have always liked this project and will continue to support it. I was just explaining to the other guy what it was since he was asking.

Ok maybe I understood it wrong. So we are on the same boat it seems  Cool

Yes video tutorials are the most practical, but in every case you should be on Discord channel if something goes wrong. You will realize that easiest way is to get direct support from people on Discord, who already did this (and every one of them had different issues while setup), and now running nodes.

Secure Nodes - Latest update!

Quote
Today the Secure Nodes development and operations team is conducting a major system upgrade. The tracking and payments system will be in a scheduled unavailability period starting at approximately noon Eastern time today, and expected to last for 6 hours.

These upgrades address system scaling and security, and will improve downtime, failover, and timeout issues.

These types of issues were expected to manifest at larger node counts, and was one of the drivers to moving testing to mainnet. Because of the large number of testnet nodes, currently over 600, the developers and sysadminds were able to identify and make improvements to the code and configuration before moving to mainnet.

After this upgrade, we will operate for some days on testnet to verify stability. Moving to mainnet is still a priority, and we want to make sure the system can handle thousands of active nodes with a minimum of support issues.

Thanks to everyone for both your participation and patience in this process!

So, in next few days, we can expect Secure nodes to be active. Just to be a sure "Secure Node" is like masternode or something else?
there will not be a new swap, chainsplit or etc..?

Secure nodes are similar, but more secure and reliable than master nodes. All communications between nodes, wallet to nodes and nodes to wallet are encrypted.
Running a Secure Node is also profitabil 3.5% of all mined ZEN are redirected to a secure node reward.
That results into 7560 ZEN per month.

Text below maybe is the best for starters->

7560 ZEN per month is distributed between all node owners per month?
Network through mining produces  216000 ZEN / per month. Division of each PoW block: 3.5% Secure Nodes reward  - > 7560 ZEN  for this purpos monthly.

This calculator will give you exact amount per node http://zen.lebre.net/. Number of total nodes is uncertain, but will rise over time probably. Put numbers between 1000 and 5000 to get a closer picture. VPS costs vary,  you can find it for about 5$.

If node meet all criteria will be considered eligible for payment->

Secure Node Criteria
Each of the following criteria must be met and maintained for a Secure Node to be eligible to recieve a share of the reward pool. These items may be added to or modified at any time.

Must maintain a balance of at least 42 ZEN in a 'stake' transparent address
Must maintain a minimum balance of .001 ZEN in a private address on the node for challenges
Must be available with minimal exception time for at least 92% of an earning period (appox. 1 day)
Must perform a challenge in under 300 seconds
Allow 8 or more peers by allowing public connections on the configured zen port (default 9033)
Must maintain a valid public SSL cert properly configured for zen
Must not fall behind the current block height by more than 4 blocks
Must update to current versions of the zen and/or tracker software within the posted time frame
Note: only one public Ip address is allowed per node (IPv4 or IPv6).
Nodes who meat all criteria will be algible for payments

Hi, just when was it planned to operate secure nodes?
Secure Nodes are in beta testing, and as soon as everything becomes ready will go mainnet. You can join beta testings if you like.

What's the outcome of the major system upgrade? Was it successful?  Grin
There is no official statement about this, testings are in a progress. Wink

ZEN has a good jump on bittrex, listing on bittrex means this is very reliable project. You know this is innovative in anonymous feature. Anon coins like ZEN is the feature.

Zenminepro has the next highest hash rate.
My earnings are pretty close to whattomine has me listed at making over my time mining there.  Been stable since I jumped on about a week ago.
Only critique I have with the pool is the actual miner tracking page is a little slow and sometimes doesn't refresh as quick as I would like but that's back end stuff probably to stop DDOS attacks

Tell me,what are the advantages of ZenCash in anonymity compared to Monero ?
For a start it is much cheaper, alternative to ZCash and Monero.

ZenCash allocates 88% of the block reward to miners.
The remaining 12% is shared 8.5% for the DAO and core team to fund development, outreach, and partnerships, and 3.5% is reserved for Secure Nodes which are in beta, and going main net very soon. With Secure Nodes, system based on Zero-knowledge encryption - zk-SNARKs will be upgraded to the next level.
Our goal is to become most used privacy coin. Trought constant investing and improvents, paid from our tresury, we are on right road to acomplish this.

ZenCash is platform for private transactions, messaging and publishing, and we throw accent on this.

Monero and ZenCash are different kind of projects. ZenCash is trying to create a fair system for people all around the world to participate and give equal opportunities. Everyone can participate and even become member of a team.

Knowing all this it is very hard to proclaim a winner..
