I think this project is quite promising. Especially I like the anonymity and the lack of registration.

Nice really good made website you guyz own. But i would prefer to have some more informations about your team. for example a xing or linked in account, where we can see their past doings in business.

i dont like to throw money at some nice pictures and names of people, where there is no or little info about them on the internet.

Yes, I believe that the ICO of this project will be completed very quickly. Anonymity in our time is very much appreciated. Wink

Interesting project. The website looks definitely awesome!

I'm quite surprised there's no Android/iOS client planned. Messaging nowadays heavily relies on mobile devices.

if support showed up maybe the ico will be ended so quick since there's more interest out of the community, just need to see if how
well this project will go through and how the dev will generate enough funding's for the success of every plan goal.

The ICO is coming and i can vouch for this one since i am the one who translated the ANN into Filipino language and as promise, the dev paid my translation bounty at the date he set.
I really like this project since i am always online, thru this project i can keep the anonymity of my online activities and my private data will not be needed to register.

dev,Had the Chinese ANN thread translation finished?
Can I do it?

The Chinese translation has already been made sorry

Exchange listing planned?

Nothing formal yet, that is not our priority as of now. However you can be pretty sure it will be listed easily as any ERC20 tokens, at least on small exchanges at beginning. We will try to push it at the end of the ICO  when we got time.

From the whitepaper and your posts, I do not find the total coins supply! and the price of ICO? any information about those?

First step if you wanna get informed on the ICO : http://wwam.io/ico.
Total coin supply is not fixed, coins are minted during ICO (That has been said numerous times already).

Interesting development, but why for this tokens? Did not find a detailed description of the white paper for example. Several years ago there was a similar development like Talkcoin I do not remember exactly. There was a chat in the purse, messages were sent for coins. It was also anonymous. Here, as I understand it, tokens serve as a kind of project shares, but will not be used? Or I'm wrong?

The tokens will actually be exchangeable for our own currency on our blockchain when the project will be live. This currency will be used to send pay nodes for processing messages

I updated the second post of this thread with quotes of the Q&A session we had in early days of this thread. You can find almost everything you might wonder there. Please read it before asking any questions Smiley

Although I stand behind your cause, I think the summary in the whitepaper is heavy-handed. For example:

"Big internet companies are paying huge sums of money to learn more about their clients activities. Despite the precautions users employ to avoid being tracked, Internet Service Providers (ISP) can still monitor them. It may seem harmless to some people, but most users are resigned to it, and accept it as a necessary evil in this modern world."

In some countries ISPs monitor because they are legally obliged to do so. It's in the ISPs' interest to not bother you too much in order to keep you as their paying customer, but they may be restricted in their freedom by law. So there's also a political aspect, not just an economic one, although the two may overlap. In democratic states, not only government, but also citizens, non-government organizations and business shape the law.

--------------------------------------------

Some typos in the Whitepaper.

Summary, page 3:

  • clients activities: clients' activities
  • users as nothing more: users are nothing more

It looks like IRC but more added bonuses on security and privacy i would definitely use it when its comes to confidential message. private data really need to be protected at all time since hacker and phishers are always active.

You're right. I guess there are simply too many countries, too many states, too many laws to take into account all of them in just one parragraph. The purpose on this project should not be enclosed by any legal environment in particular, but as a declaration of purpose, an ideal target. Once the project is real it will be the governments' task to see if it needs to be limited.

Thanks for pointing out the typos, We'll take the time to correct them asap !

Of course, what you're saying is true, ISPs have legal obligations and it probably bother some of them to have to monitor their clients against their will. That's why we say it's a necessary evil for some, we do not blame the ISPs for doing what they do (Unless they use this data for commercial usage). However, ISPs might not be able to do anything about it because of the law or pressure from the government, but as a user you can oppose to that by adopting alternative systems of communication such as WWAM for example. End to end encryption can definitely put an end to privacy concerns, however it's the responsibility of the users to massively adopt it (And not only for communication, even if that's what WWAM is about).

Thanks for elaborating. I would suggest you incorporate this greater vision in your summary or in another chapter for a more nuanced story. That might attract a more diverse (and richer) range of investors than the current dystopian evilcorp one (even if it's true Wink).

Hello,

The project seems interesting. Everything related to Anonymity is quite successful in the cryptocurrency field.

Do you have any competitor in this sector (using blockchain and cryptos) ?

If yes, can you make a quick comparizon between your offer and theirs ?

Thank you  Smiley

There's no way a chat app is getting funded. There are already so many options for anonymous communication.

Good thing that we are not a chat app then Smiley.

As far as we know, there's no project currently proposing to implement a whole blockchain based technology dedicated to a messaging protocol.
Security and privacy shouldn't be a competition in our opinion. We encourage any open source project based on decentralized mechanisms, even if their goal is similar to ours.
It should not be about profit but more about making software engineering progress towards a greater goal, which is strengthening privacy and anonymity.

They want to make a real decentralized platform to protect the privacy of users, they took the exemple of the success of IRC to show the possible success of WWAM.
Everyone need to discuss and IT is made for that, i think we have a big lack of privacy this time and project like WWAM is necessary to fill this gap.

No, it will start tomorrow at 10 p.m UTC (You can see the live countdown before the beginning here : http://wwam.io/ico
If you send ETH before it starts, you won't receive any token and you will waste gas for nothing  Wink

As I see it, the key point is the use of the blockchain. It's obvious there are several solutions for encrypted end to end communication but the use of a blockchain system is what makes this project truly interesting.

real privacy is very hard to archieve nowadays. But that's the point.. starting in this branch today might cash out in some years in multiple ways!

Today many people don't care about that, but exactly they are someday the first ones that regret it most being lazy with that.
