Can anyone explain the differences between substratum and shift? Shift seems like the closest competition to substratum, what makes substratum better? Other than the clear marketing going on with substratum

Shift uses IPFS a new protocol, Substatum will fix the internet from the very foundation and will descentralize DNS.

I'm a professional Spanish translator. Projects like WePower, Envion, Atlant, etc. Among others... are part of my portfolio. Hire me or sign me up as a bounty participant for your project!

Shift uses IPFS a new protocol, Substatum will fix the internet from the very foundation and will descentralize DNS.

In other words, substratum uses the same protocol that we already use to surf the web and website addresses are going to be the same, you don't have to change anything an this make substratum adoption easier than shift. Am I right??

Only just learned now about this project but it seems really neat! There definitely is a need for ease of use in crypto space. If we want this to become mainstream, it must be as easy as using iOS. No hassle for the user to set up things. I like this attempt and will keep on following. Price is also looking good, SUB made some nice gains the last days!

As I saw myself confronted with the same question today, I asked my good ol pal google to help me out and he brought me to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/SubstratumNetwork/comments/6ytfkd/why_i_invested_in_the_substratum_ico_and_am_going/

sounds like an interesting project, but why not use existing blockchains like ETH, NEM or NXT which already has the proper infrastructure?

This opens a floodgate on lot of taboo topics. Things that shouldn't be published will be published.

For a society, this will have negative impact. I do not mean this project, but in general decentralizing websites and internet contents. Think of all those pedophiles, propagandist. Combine this with subliminal AI and that's your worst nightmare for the society.

From their website:

Quote
The issue of net neutrality is a huge topic in today's digital world. Censoring and regulating content means the people have no control over what they do and do not want on the internet, it's all a matter of corporate money changing hands.

With Substratum, any member has the ability to vote content up or down. This allows people to identify bad players like child pornography or terrorism and get them removed from the network. This is a truly decentralized internet and the next logical step in our digital journey.

Looks like they have already though about that!

Hi,

SUB Substratum has just entered the top100 on coinmarketcap at #99 with a market cap of $50mil.

One more day of big % gain now and it will be in everyone's view (if you rank by biggest gainers of the last 24 hrs on coinmarketcap, it doesn't show any of the coins from #101 to #200 market cap, even if their percentage gain is higher. That's why the big pump from 2 days ago didn't get much coverage.) But one more good pump now and every youtuber will highlight them and that will for sure grow the demand and the price!

Substratum is one of the most important and needed services of our time. If you value your freedom of choice, you will support it! Don't let your Internet Provider rob you of your right to choose!

Right now Sub is at around .22 cents which is a really good price still. It has come a long way and there is still a LONG road ahead of them. but by far they are the most active cryptocurrency I have seen.

Participated in the ICO so iam very happy at the moment. A competitor for substratum is Mysterium, a decentralized VPN service. I hodl MYST also but i think substratum has the upperhand. I read that Mysterium wants to comply with the legal rules of countries, bummer....... Say goodby to decentralized VPN for Chinese.
