Best thing that you can do in regards to this matter is to coordinate with whoever provides hosting for the said site and tell them that if they don't provide any personal information about the hackers, they can get into legal trouble. As much as you want to avoid that route, that will be the only way you can go to right now.

Good work xdev.  A similar thing happened with etherium holders who were tricked into signing up for a fake myetherwallet domain.  The real address is myetherwallet.io but the phishing site was a dotcom.

Lol...A Newbie with just one post count warning us is a laughable venture especially since it has to do with clarification on a website address. I really don't think he gave the genuine site address. People, be guided. By the way, the Electrum wallet for Android is now up and running. Its crash almost panicked me. Sigh...

Fucking idiots can't be fixed.  You are going to hear about your stupidity whether you like it or not.  Idiot.

Don't be too harsh man, Everyone feels really bad and I know what's his feeling right now. Very big amount compared on my loss from gambling and trading. He's a victim of a phishing link these people are completely lazy fags.

Try reporting to FBI or something.
Call. Contact host. Maybe you can reach out to an international lawyer.
Possible that contacting the host will help you out but make sure that you will have proper documents and other stuffs for it. FBI? They can help too I guess.

Edit:
Props to this man

If you can, please make this a sticky , people NEED to be warned and i need to find someone to recover 150kusd and get 75kusd for it (Relative to current BTC + BCH prices )

I got robbed of 45.8 BTC (and BCH so total = 150000$) after installing the executable from electrum-wallet.com.

I was running multisig but both on the same PC. First i ran the portable electrum.exe from  electrum-wallet.com but when it did not load my wallets *NOTE : the ones that had BTC in them ,it loaded just fine any other wallet ) - I don't want to hear opinions on my stupidity

After it didn't work i downloaded last version of electrum from electrum.org

I'm wondering how the F is it possible that after 2 years of this thread no one has taken down and/or announced the US. authorities fbi etc about it.

I'm in Romania and have no wish to deal with this legally, which will probably get me nowhere.

I  am willing to split the rights on the BTC with whoever is capable of recovering them via detective+legal means.

This is the transaction : https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/78d44db46445d3097996fc644c1221eeead31added5c35cf1b7938737e3b49db

As i said , I don't want to hear opinions on my stupidity, this is mostly a warning and hopefully a way for someone to make a healthy 75000$.

thanks for the warning op. maybe ill be more carefull about what im downloading from now on.  and ihope more people being read this not to ignore to be help them as a warning.

Why am I not surprised the thief is from Russia? Call me whatever you want but really a lot of these scams originate from there.

My intentions are good and I've reported the information I have to OP. Its up to him what he wants to do with it.

I hope other people will learn from your mistake. Thank you for posting this, but unfortunately those BTC will not be recovered

soon. People hosting these scams, move quickly when they hit a jackpot like this. I would suggest that people do a test tx

first, before they move their coins. This will prevent situations like this in the future. You will only lose the test run coins and

not your whole hoard.  Roll Eyes
Going by the date and timing of his transaction, I noticed some desperation to catch up with the BCC timing and bonus, that must be one reason he was unable to think twice, but 45BTC actually calls for double checking no matter what. It's quite pathetic the internet is full of wolves in sheep clothe. I think you really need to report the site if you really care about another victim falling into their trap!

And he is probably keeping these "winnings" from OP and other people that didn't had even basic knowledge about Bitcoin security. It's an easy bet with pretty high odds.

My antivirus doesn't even let me view the website. When investing more than 2-3k or earning it from profits you should invest about 400-500 on a new laptop and a good anti virus. It's a small investment for peace of mind and security of your funds.

Blame Goodle adwords. Google ads now look so similar to their search results, many users are tricked into clicking those ads instead of the real sites

This. You would think people would double check downloading executable programs especially when they will be using said program to handle their ~150,000$... Anyways OP I hope you have learned a lesson from this and I am sorry that it happened.

I reported the domain name to namecheap and i am shocked to read their response

Quote
Hello,

Thank you for your email regarding the electrum-wallet.com domain name. We have thoroughly investigated your allegation to the extent of our capabilities, but we were unable to validate your claims, unfortunately.

In this situation, Namecheap acts as the registrar only. It means that our ability to investigate the matter is limited since the content transmitted via the website is not located on our server. Please also note that we do not own the reported domain name, we are simply the company the domain name was registered with. Considering the aforementioned points, we recommend that you contact the hosting provider, who would be in a better position to validate your claims and take the appropriate action.

Additionally, if you believe you are a victim of an Internet crime, or if you are aware of an attempted crime, you can file a complaint through Internet Crime Complaint Center at https://complaint.ic3.gov , who are in the best position to fully investigate any such issue across any/all service providers.

Please let us know should you have any further questions.

Shame on Namecheap. They can't spot that it's phishing scam.I know the domain is not hosted at namecheap but they can suspend the domain but no they won't.They want to keep doing business with scammers.

who told you that "electrum-wallet.com" is the real website to download a bitcoin wallet from?
i am sorry for your loss but you should have double checked where you are downloading your wallet. this is not even the first scam attempt and there have been a couple of more of these sites like this.

the official electrum wallet website is electrum.org and there is no alternative to that. any other website is a scam.

OP doesn't want to be called out for "stupidity" or whatever. I am not saying you are doing so, but let's be respectful.

With that said, you are right. If I was moving around 45.8 Bitcoins, you best believe it would be with the utmost precaution. I have lost my fair share of Bitcoin to scams and not prepared to lose more. I feel bad for OP though... the current state of Bitcoin is terrible and I think it will only stay the same, or get worse. Imagine what will happen when Bitcoin becomes mainstream. Everyone and their mother will have Bitcoin on public exchanges and scamming will become normal. It is sad.
Credit card fraud is rampant as well and that does not stop people from using credit cards, the only issue is that with bitcoin you cannot get the money back and this is something people will need to get used to, in bitcoin there is not a security blanket protecting us, if you lose your money you lose it for good.

Coinbase really should of told everybody that they will distribute BCASH and these thefts wouldn't happen. I blame that exchange.

Most people on Coinbase are complete noobs who had no idea how to even withdraw BTC , let alone split properly.

I blame Coinbase for all these thefts.
