PPS is almost live

All code changes for implementing PPS are done and live.

I have set all of my workers to PPS for the next couple of days since I can't loose any coins to myself and I want to triple check the calculations for PPS payments. Smiley

Once final verification is complete, I will enable the option on your worker settings page.

PPS is per worker, so you can have some workers PPLNS and some PPS or whatever mix you prefer. PPS shares are paid when new shifts are created and the rewards show up for payment immediately after this.

Have you decided your PPS rate?

Have you decided your PPS rate?

Yes. The rate will be 5% for PPS mining.

As a side note, the first shift is in since PPS started and it seems that the calculations are working out well.

You should see my handle drop out of rewards on block detail pages and user "PPS" should become the second largest miner.

Tomorrow we'll have more data.  Smiley

A pool server lost a connection to the database for some reason. Investigating further....

For PPS will you keep paying txfees too?

Is this the formulla you will use for PPS?
(1 / Network Difficulty * 25+txfee) - Pool Fee (5%)

That can only be applied to RBPPS (Round Based PPS) if I am correct, not in case of pure PPS.
Pure PPS is a fixed rate, a fixed rate can never include tx fees because they fluctuate.

PPS pays you per share. The only way to calculate the value of a share is to use the block reward (not txn fees) for the share submitted.

Thought so, but wanted to double check.

Hello. I'm a new KNC user here looking to use a nice pool. I was using BTC Guild which has been working fine, are there any reasons to
switch over to another pool like this one? It's not like I'm going to make more coin, right?
Thanks

Decentralization of mining power between pools is a good start. I'm bias on almost every other level though, so maybe some pool participants should answer your question.

Most of us cannot see our hashrate from the pool stats...

speaking of stats, did you know on an ipad that some of the columns are missing...  HTML mobile thing?

I personally always click the 'go to full site' button if a site gives it...

and I like change.... i like the way the price of bitcoin has changed Smiley

But everyone else - or at least those not in the top 10 - has to click on the dashboard to see their stats.
There are more users NOT in the top 10 than there are IN the top 10....

Totally didn't think about this and it is a great reason to change it back. I'll make sure to do that Monday morning.

speaking of stats, did you know on an ipad that some of the columns are missing...  HTML mobile thing?

Tables are optimized to make sure they fit within the viewing screen.

and I like change.... i like the way the price of bitcoin has changed Smiley

I think most of us here like that change. Cheesy
