Why would you wait till 8th August?

The time to get in is before that. I invested yesterday at $15 and $16.5 and I'm already up 10btc. I plan to short 75% of it when it reaches $25-$30 (which it will) and then hold the rest. My short term profit will keep me safe from any long term losses.

been holding it since $6.35...

good time to book profit, or continue to hold?

Take out your investment and continue with the profits.

It's an estimated value but ye roughly 43btc which is now est 53btc

I would have got in at $10-$12 if my BCH from my device didn't take 24 hours + to confirm on exchange.

I personally believe this coin could rival ETH within 2 years. Imagine having bought ETH at 20$. Would you consider that to be a solid investment?

I sold it at $6. Of course I cried a little when I saw the rise, but I sold it because I didn't really see where the thing was going. The wallet is crappy, there's no clear vision and all they have is a catchy slogan "the Ethereum of China".
I think that Ethereum is the Ethereum of China, so I don't really see the need for a special platform.

That must of sucked lol, you lost out on $15 a coin.

I agree on the ethereum on china, plus they have a bite of ETC.

Yeah... I had 2 BTC in it, don't remind me what I could have now... Still, better than the time when I made x10 in one day just to lose everything by going long with leverage on ETH when it was 0.15 BTC. At least I learned a few (expensive) lessons hehehe.

If you are a long term HODL-er then it's not too late to invest. A huge amount of alt coins will fade away; NEO will go through peaks and troughs like every other coin but it has proven it will still be around in my opinion. I bought in at $6-11 and delighted with results so far, I have no problem sinking more cash in at $20 as even though it spiked incredibly recently I've always seen it as a long term investment; the recent surge is just a bonus.

In my opinion antshares/ neo will reach the moon. There are 2 reasons I'll give you:
1. This chinese ethereum is usable to a lot of potential (chinese) projects. China is proud of their 'home made' stuff.
2. China is investing in their football clubs so they can get very good football players from europe, like tevez, obi mikel, carvalho. Only to improve their own chinese players. I think there is a good opportunity china will do the same with antshares. They don't want to fall behind from the rest of the world. I say it again... they are proud of their own products.

So is it to late too biy neo? No, it is not too late... even if you buy next month or in october... it is not too late.

You shouldn't invest anymore in NEO. It's not too late but you won't make hugh profits. You should definitely buy Waves. Upcoming weeks will be the week of updates and releases. The price will rise.

Wish I would have bought more at $7.

Might cash out my initial investment when each NEO reaches $50, let the rest ride

Take out your investment and continue with the profits.

I'm pretty new to trading bitcoin and altcoins and this is something that I'm trying to figure out -- when to take profit or when to take out initial investment and let the profit ride?

I was also in around that price -- $6.11.  I know it's really my decision in the end, so I'm looking to get educated here on the smartest moves.  When to take out initial, when not to, etc.

No, I don't think so.

Not if you compare it to Ethereum and see the current price of ETH.

NEO at present;

-Microsoft on board
-Multiple coding languages, not just one, no need to learn new coding (Solidity).
-Tacit acceptance by Chinese authorities.
-Chinese government intention in supporting/utilising smart contracts to secure/designate real world assets.
-Chinese desire/support for home grown product (Both Govt and populace).
-Ease of purchase by Chinese on their exchanges.
-Greater awareness of product in China than other external options (Excluding ETH)
-Rest of world awareness of product and how it offers a different option to Ethereum.
-Still viable and accessible via Bittrex to investors outside China.
-This is attractive to those that cannot/do not wish to use Solidity / Ethereum, provides another smart contract option.
-Could also be used for smart contracts in addition to/with Ethereum smart contracts from a risk management (hybrid) perspective.
-Shaping up as the best contender to take market share from Ethereum for smart contracts.

At current face value where it is and where it can potentially head I think it is worth at least $50-$100 today, personal opinion only.
