To make any transaction from your mobile phone we can now. To bind the mobile phone number to bitcoin wallet it means to fall under the control of the security services. In addition, the mobile phone number may change. You will be constantly changing purses?

The possibility of this happening is very much possible and I have not even read on the thread before reading somewhere else on how a company is planning to invest in satellites in other to ensure that bitcoin transactions are carried out without internet connection and this is very much not impossible which can equally make the use of mobile phones possible and if the penetration is going to be high, then advancement in technology needs to start looking into that direction.

That would be making a decentralized currency centralized. The more that you connect Bitcoin with any or every other organization, or data structure your connecting it to somebody's personal identity which goes completely against the purpose of the coin, and completely against the purpose of cryptocurrency.

No. Hell no. A BTC address affiliated with a mobile number is a huge problem in terms of anonymity. One of the pros of bitcoin is being somewhat anonymous to some extent, due to wallet addresses not being affiliated with any personal data or information that the wallet owner has. Connecting wallets/addresses to a mobile number will render this feature useless. You can use those services if you want. But don't come crying here saying that you lost your bitcoins because the service provider got hacked.

I think that this is a fair warning to all not to be so excited with a simple idea that can have repercussion to the whole Bitcoin network. However, there are now wallet service providers which are somehow connected with the smartphone numbers and I think it is okay unless the phone can be stolen and there are no security measures being implemented. In other words, convenience is not always the main thing to consider but right now it is always security.

If as your said, do the banks or government never accept Bitcoin? Because if they accept it, Bitcoin will centralized in one place in this country. I think in future the community cryptocurrency should find the way fix this issue.

Time off to sleep ... ( ̄︶ ̄)~

I really think that this really be a very great security feature for the BTC network, its surely going to prevent the theft of bitcoins from hackers. When a verification code is sent to the phone number to authenticate every login its sure t prevent theft.

I think bitcoin should not be connected with mobile numbers as it would remove the anonymity which is one of the major reason what Bitcoin is now.I think connecting Bitcoin to mobile number would some power over our Bitcoin which would make Bitcoin bit centralize. As Bitcoin connects to more services it's one of the pros of being decentralised crypto currency will be gone.Bitcoin is good as it is now except long confirmation time.

i would love to, but if we look at other POV. i dont really think this would be good.
its like linking their own profile at some mobile number right? police/goverment can locate the user of BTC easily this way. so i prefer no if possible
Well if goverment wanted to locate someone with this advancement of technology they would need few minutes to do it so you dont have to worry about it . Smiley

Be careful! Don't lose your Bitcoins in November 2017 forks!!!
See a very serious warning here: https://bitcoin.org (https://bitcoin.org/en/alert/2017-10-09-segwit2x-safety)

Hi guys and girls.
What do you think will they ever make BTC connected with our mobile numbers (so we could pay with it)?  Cool

We don't need that to happen at all. We can already pay with our mobile anywhere where bitcoin is accepted, without it being connected to our mobile number, with the wallets. I don't think i would want my bitcoins to be associated with my mobile number as i won't feel anonymous at all in that case, and i would not feel safe at all paying for anything with them if they are going out from my mobile number.

I think it will not be very useful and I don't know if anything like this is even possible but as programming is already surprising me every time it makes an impossible stuff possible. anyway, I think we should change mobile numbers into something better because they need really some improvement they are still like the old age systems.and also we should work on making everything inside virtual reality. man, that will be awesome.

This completely depends on the wallet you use. Someone might make a wallet where you pay with phone number, but it's paid to an address behind the scenes. I really hope this won't happen, and I highly doubt this will ever happen either. Privacy and anonymity is a big thing when it comes to cryptocurrencies, and I don't think it'll be ruined by this.

who cares

Please explain in more details, I can't understand what do you mean. If we have smartphones it's super easy with apps to pay with bitcoins. If btc will be connected to our mobile numbers, will there anything important happen?
I can't see even if situation will change. We have wallet keys and etc, do you mean only mobile number based wallet? Then it won't be safe because imagine goverment can to listen us while we call, see records of our sms and etc.

For me i am already connected to my mobile if i need to login or send btc anywhere i will need my mobile. For all the sites where i have invested , trade or even store bitcoin their is a 2 factor verification and in order for me to login no matter what i will need my phone. I'm sure many others also have this verification you can say that now itself we are using our mobile to make payments.

First of all op you should have clearly explained as to how you think bitcoin can be connected to a mobile number, in what ways do you think it can be implemented and can benefit us all. As per the entire idea of bitcoin it's not necessary nor even desirable to connect or link any identity proof to bitcoin. There can be and as there are already bitcoin mobile wallet but it's in no way necessary or even permissible to allow our mobile numbers to be connected to bitcoin. So I would say there will hardly be anyone who would like their mobile number to be connected to their bitcoins.

I don't see any necessity to connect Btc to a mobile number. This would be a very serious breach of security and it would contradict the very idea of anonymous cryptocurrency

I don't think that bitcoin will become connected with mobile number because bitcoin promotes security and that mobile number has a very low security and a lot of smart people can bypass and do something bad with your mobile number so connecting bitcoin with mobile number is such a risky and dangerous thing so i think the developers of bitcoin will not let that happen.

The possibility of this happening is very much possible and I have not even read on the thread before reading somewhere else on how a company is planning to invest in satellites in other to ensure that bitcoin transactions are carried out without internet connection and this is very much not impossible which can equally make the use of mobile phones possible and if the penetration is going to be high, then advancement in technology needs to start looking into that direction.
yeah really agree with you thoughts brother. the way technology is advancing and the way everything is going better and better in the field of technology time by time. i think there are severe chances that it would be possible in the future.
i think the thing needed is legalization of bitcoin through super powers of the world like 'america' , 'china' and its adoption by different developing countries like india , indonasia , pakistan which has a huge number of population based of teenager or youth so, i think the more world accept it the more chances are that it will advance its technology to relief people.

Oh nice!
Another great idea that will improve bitcoin by turning it more and more into fiat.

Not only have we replaced the banks with both miners and online wallets now let's ruing the p2p payment feature also.
Because you are too lazy to make a payment with your normal wallet , you choose the worse way to do it.

Give the mobile company access to your funds.
Forfeit all the bitcoin security and rely on the fact that maybe your phone will not be stolen.
And don't forget, this service will also have some costs, so more tx fees.

Satoshi is rolling in his grave at 12000RPM.

Yeah, let's make satellites that will rely bitcoin transactions without internet instead of using those satellites for internet communications like is being done right now!!!
It's like building a dam to make way for a mine, extract the iron, make buckets and then give the buckets to the people in the village to carry the water from the lake that is now too far away.
