If the network is up and running, and transactions are properly recorded and stored on the blockchain, that is the only basic minimum that Filecoin ( non existing ) can get away with  .  You do the math better yet, use common sense in term of genuine airdrops or speculative ICOs.

Filecoin of the modern vision suppose that 3-5 years of Filecoin's capitalization can be compared with bitcoin, the future will be interesting.

You're right, for years this purpose has been worked out and desired by great players! Would anyone have predicted when FileCoin would be on the market? This futures price could be lower for an instant that, who invested in $2 or less, will take profit, would be the chance to get on the train.

At least it went through Y Combinator which shows that it is kind of legit project. But we should watch for updates that are not happening often (don't happen at all).

Update on filecoin. The biggest ICO ever!

I started to listen about it by Cedric Dahl oh his youtube channel. It could be one of the future leader in the crypto mcap ranking.

here is a good point of view about the ico and the potential and risk of this coin.

Now we have just to wait it on exchanges to see if it will drop a bit under the ico price as other big ICO have done 

Is there any official announcement or thread on FILECOIN?
Given such a huge ICO, I expect it will be a big thing in the near future.

it is expected to be released Q4 2018...so don't worry.
as for the price you're referencing, they are future shares, basically an IOU,  so have nothing to do with the real value of filecoin nor the final price.

that being said, I would expect filecoin to do x3 x4, MAYBE even x10 upon release just because of the pent up demand. but who knows maybe it goes the opposite way and dumps. also filecoin can be mined and i think they plan to go old school with a genuine POW mining slow start and all the investors are locked up so cannot dump.

Lbank and gate are trading the future FIL now at 4-5 usd, so that is an attractive entry point i would say. ico price was 2.6-4.8 roughly
