Some people may have a different opinion than you and it makes sense to follow your opinion instead others. Then who is right or who is wrong is another subject. Some may have taken a risk by buying some bitcoins sometime ago and if (let' say) they made a 20% profits it may be enough for them and they don't want to take a risk anymore (because they can't afford it or whatever)

We all have a different life, background, etc. It's difficult to be in the shoes of others people

There's still a good chance that the prices will go down in a few weeks or so and people may just need the money they have invested in Bitcoin back

There is no reason why I feel anyone should not sell so far you can make peace with yourself and you are not greedy then you are good to go. I sold some last week and I didnt feel ashamed because as at the time I sold, I dont have any other choice than to sell, so many people can be in the same position rather than horading. Also, the reason why the price is going high is because demand is more than supply but if there is no supply at all, then in the next days, no one will be asking which return us back to the beginning.

I think it will grow higher aswell but since the price literally skyrocketed the last few days its hard to believe that this trend goes on forever up to 8000$ without a hard drop before. And once it goes down alot of people are going to panic-sell aswell because they just see the decrease in value and that's the point where im buying again.

Also people sell at any price as long as there is a demand for it. Maybe they need the money or they just did a one time investment into bitcoin and want to be done with it because they think its to risky. There can be lots of reasons. But you're right, if you're in for the long term then you shouldn't sell right now even if it goes down again.

SegWit opened a lot of doors and the bitcoin roadmap hold a lot of good things but I guess I'm correct when I say that your speculation is not backed by anything. We can either be realistic and say that the price is barely holding +4000$ at the moment with ups and downs or simply predict a random price increase within a few days like you did.

LOL.. In my opinion, those who are selling their coins right now are the most intelligent investors. I am saying this, because 99% of the Bitcoin holders will be reluctant to sell their coins now, because of the rising prices. But sooner or later there will be profit booking and a huge dump. Someone can decide to sell his or her bitcoins because they believe that they are okay with the amount of profits that they have made so far, others  on the other hand believes in the notion that whatever goes up, eventually comes crashing down.Everyone has his or her own reason for selling at this juncture, but the prudent one's who wait and see it go further before they are okay. There is nothing wrong with making even much more money.

There can be different reasons but for me its to just make an early exit before correction so that I can buy some cheap bitcoins after few days.
However this time I don't think we will see quite big correction so I have already bought back what I have sold at $4k.

The people trading are not only from this forum they are from eveeywhere for all of us we are aware that bitcoin will easily reach 5000$.

▪Don't think this like only a crypto market think this as a real companies market we buy at 100$ and sell at 2000$ ni matter what our stock will sell in couple of seconds.

I'd be taking some money off the table now too, if I had any on it.  Traders take profits,  that's the nature of trading and there's nothing wrong with that.   That's why we get dips, and we're going to get one shortly,  believe me.  Don't fault people for selling.  There are many reasons for doing so.

It's not really wise to sell bitcoin now, the trend is going up as time goes by. But, we can't blame anyone who sells bitcoin. Also keep in mind that Segwit 2x second part is a hardfork, I'm pretty sure the price will adjust before that, so it may be wise to reduce the holdings by some percentage, just in case.

Not to mention that relative price of BTC vs ETH is high, that is actually a good moment to get some ETH or other alt coins at relatively low price - when BTC start to adjust, money will flow to alt coins and boost the price.

Sooner or later you will still have to sell your Bitcoin. The fact is that today's life requires a lot of money for daily needs, so Bitcoin will be sold by almost every user in one way or another. Nobody is really selling, people are just making some correction to their investment by reinvesting the money they have. This is best strategy to earn big amount of money if you have time and patience. You can actually sell your bitcoin at this highest point and then wait for bitcoin to come down to little bit so that you can re-buy bitcoins at little lower than previous one. As you are already buying these coins for the profits that you had earlier then it is complete profit even if the price doesn't move more than enough. Thats great way to work with bitcoin. So though the price is dropping and if you think its because of people selling it then its been done with smart mind!

With that said, it realistically does not make much difference seeing as the price will be $1,000,000 someday so it makes perfect sense to just HODL too. We should all be here for the long haul specially in bitcoin. Really hard to touch our bitcoin now since the price is really too high. Day trading is understandable, but letting go of your whole stash right now is that a good idea.

With the increase in demand and limited supply, the price of bitcoins is rising up day by day. I would like to cover all the details but the punch line is the transaction fees will not decrease and it will be also not a heavy amount obviously. I agree. In time we'll have less and less Bitcoins because people will keep losing them, it's human nature. With rising demand and more people wanting to invest and decreasing supply there's only one way the price can go.

Why do you sell ?? There are many reasons why selling ,,, you can buy when prices are still down. And sell when the price starts to rise. That way they can benefit a lot. True! recently before the SegWit, when the price correction was happening, many people have started thinking negative about bitcoin and started selling bitcoin. I am sure they regretting deeply now. I strongly believe that bitcoin will reach 8k USD by the end of this year specially when the positivity is high around bitcoin.

However, you will always see some negative people in the market who will try to discourage you  from bitcoin because they don't like other people to become rich. Avoid those people and buy bitcoin. Reward will be huge in near future.

People will buy and sell at different points. If you bought cheap you could sell some now and make huge profit, and maybe buy back in later if price drops. But if you bought at ATH then now would not be the right time to sell. Also if you need the money to pay for something, you might cash some out.
