It's depend on your skill to trading on the exchanges, trading is more profitable if you have a knowledge and good analysis
but I am sure that hold bitcoin is profitable in the future.

I have come to realize in recent time that holding bitcoin in ones wallet is more profitable and a little bit risk free as compared to trading altcoin or what do you think ?
in my opinion holding bitcoin will be more profitable and possibly risk free, because by holding we will know better when to sell it. by holding back we can monitor the price for high first, but it takes quite a long time, therefore it is not easy to hold bitcoin. and it takes extra patience. Behind your patience in holding bitcoin, chances are you will get a pretty big profit. compared to when to choose to sell altcoin the risk is likely to be higher if you are not careful. |

Both are profitable, however trading is riskier and requires experience, also you must control emotions very well.
Holding Bitcoin is a good option if you don't have experience in trading, but you need patience and of course you must not panic sell your BTC when there is a dip.

If you have bitcoin and still grasping or hodling it. Then it is way and far better than trading altcoins. But take note the disadvantage of this hodling bitcoin. In which when you are expecting to gain profits, then expect also that it is more potentially to lose, too.
However if you chose trading altcoins, I prefer you do some reviews about the techniques to make sure you gain high profits. Set aside the emotions in trading since it is also risky.

If we will hold bitcoin then surely that is risk free but for this to increase value we will needed for the 5-6 month or even 1 year + but if we will do trading ( with intelligent mind ) then not only we will increase the amount of the bitcoin that we have but also the Value for that coin will increase like holding . So more profit in trading with bitcoin but our luck should work in both ways . Here in this field every way is profitable but we need to manage them with more and more perfection and also we should have small better luck . |

It can be true that holding bitcoin is a little bit safer because you safe keep it and then sell it when it hit your desired price giving you big profit in return, but this can be a long term investment. Whereas, it is good to know that with the right strategy and proper timing trading can also give you profit instantly especially when the market is actively moving. But be sure to have knowledge, time and know how of the appropriate trading procedures and have carefully studied which coins you can trust to start trading. Both trading and holding bitcoin are profitable to do.

If you purchased the currency at a price, and then sold at the higher price you purchase price, minus you pay any commission of trading, you can earn the difference between the two prices. I see BTC as a “safe bet” and the rest as opporturnities to have better returns than BTC. I seriously believe BTC will end up being the gold of the digital age. Maybe not in its current form, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

One thing I noticed in my short time trading cryptos is that the BTC/ETH/LTC triad adds a bit of a stabilizing factor to my portfolio. I have a theory that it might be because a majority of people new to cryptos due to recent exposure are only really aware of those three at first, so money is switched between them during volatility. Overall, it seems to moderate losses and gains, because e.g. when one goes up, the other dips slightly, and money is swapped between the two. Perhaps a bit of a conservation of energy thing going on-- money is neither made nor lost, it merely changes cryptocurrency. I don’t know if this theory will pan out over the long haul, but other than the odd introduction of the chaos factor (like the BCH kerfuffle), it seems to be holding true.

It depends on the Altcoins you're willing to buy. Bitcoin isn't going to be rising forever but there's no reason to go out and buy every doubious altcoin there is. I obviously recommend DeepOnion of you're willing to buy an altcoin  |

Bitcoin is likely the most stable coin in the near future. That means you can use it to limit your risk when investing to cryptocurrencies, for example putting half to BTC and the other half to a variety of altcoins. With altcoins you will have a bigger risk along with a potential for a bigger reward.

I think trading altcoin during the peak period is more profitable specially when you buy those altcoins at the very low price. Bitcoin is very expensive, so when the price will increase, you will earn also but not the same with the earnings from alts.

For me it depends on the amount of crypto you have. If you have a bunch of altcoins ready for trading then it is more profitable than holding few decimals of bitcoin. On the other hand, holding large amount of btc is better than having few altcoins.
I agree to you that hodling is less risky but my friend said that losses can be avoided in trading as long as you are careful and knowledgeable about it. Furthermore, you can also earn faster through it that's why I'm now starting to study alts and and join bounty campaigns soon.
But actually, btc and alts are both profitable. It's up to which one of the two you are more comfortable and well familiar to use
