maybe yes and maybe not, because if one richest person is join into bitcoin, then there will be a secret plan that he wants to do with bitcoin and as bill gates is microsoft founder which is related with computer technology, maybe he wants to explore about bitcoin world and who knows he can give support too with bitcoin. but once richest person and powerful person in government is join, i think there will be a mission that will bring politics into bitcoin. if politics is in bitcoin, then i think it will be give big impact for bitcoin itself.

Not only Bill gates testimonial way back 2015 made Bitcoin strong, but many countries saw the potential and adapt it. Then Bill Gates just saw this stuff and realize that it has a potential to grow since it's feature is unique and very useful in terms of currency.

Definitely. Bill Gates influence is great and worldwide. And no wonder that his statement really helped. Those who don't know btc definitely know who Bill Gates is and one thing for sure, his words are hard not to believe for skepticals. all the talks about bitcoin in the media, being on the first page of financial newspapers, these famous characters talking about bitcoin, the speculations saying it will be $50,000, etc are all good and have helped this rise and helped "get the word out" but the main reason for this rise in my opinion is the end of scaling debate. We have had it for years and that has been keeping bitcoin back. imagine a spring that wants to be released but you keep putting pressure on it. as soon as you let go that spring will jump up to the sky. that is what happens to bitcoin

I fully agree. The main driving force for this latest surge in Bitcoin value is the end of the long-running scaling debate. At least now we know what can happen in case like this and this coming November will not anymore be of big concern. All of these talks in the media add more excitement and limelight to Bitcoin but they are talking about it because of the surge in value and this creates a certain cycle. But beware, once there can be a dump in value, the media would immediately suggest that it can be the end of the bubble.

1. Price and value Bitcoin is designed to increase over time
2. Saturation in using paper money
3. Wall Street / The Giant Company still has not plunged into the world of Bitcoin
4. Paper currency increasingly unused and will be replaced with digital payments
5. The Global Reserve Currency is losing its value, while Bitcoin's value is growing

It's nice that he's supporting the community, he's actually one of the coolest billionaires and has also spent a ton of money to help cure diseases in developing nations.

Interesting how he was super cutthroat and aggressive when he was young and stupid.

That being said, the scaling debate end and hard fork survival is probably what led to the price spike, not an old Bill Gates quote.

He does have a point most especially about those less fortunate people, they would really have a hard time if the currency they have keeps going up and down. But at least he acknowledges bitcoin that it is better than cash but maybe in the future or in time it will be better than cash too.
