We've been a bit absent these past days on this forum, so a short update is needed.
We're very busy with the development of the apps. The beta-testing with the first users (thanks for your help!) brought up some bugs that took a little longer to correct than we had hoped. Development sometimes means delays and unexpected problems. We've focused a lot on user friendliness and security. These next few days we're going to start the final phase of beta-testing and we'll send the latest version to everyone who has contacted us. If you are among those who have already contacted us and you received our reply about being added to the beta-testing list, but haven't received so far anything to test, it is because we were waiting to send the already corrected version to everyone. So hang on, it's not going to be much longer. We're hopeful that in a few days the Android app will be out of beta-testing and ready to publish on Google Play Store. And soon after that, the iOS app will be released. This will mean a huge milestone in the development of the Croat system.
As soon as the apps are released, we'll start another round of contacting exchanges, to get Croat listed, now with more proof that this is a very well developed coin, with a good infrastructure behind, and with great potential. We would appreciate it if everyone signed the online petition in Change.org(
https://www.change.org/p/cryptocurrency-exchanges-get-croat-the-catalan-altcoin-listed-on-exchanges-now). Although “unofficial” and not strictly directed to any exchange, it will be a helping tool to show how many people are truly interested in trading Croat.
Meanwhile, we're also working on getting Croat known. Through our ambassadors, we're having contacts with the press and conferences are already booked for the next month in business and academic events. Due to the very serious news surrounding Catalan politics, Croat's visibility and interest from the press were affected, since people are worrying about other things right now, and it's normal. Contrary to what some have said, we're not trying to take advantage of all the hype. Quite the contrary. You might have noticed our actual “absence” online whenever things get complicated here.
As we've stated many times, Croat is not related in any way to any political party, movement or opinion. We believe that a lot of the bad things happening nowadays to “regular” people are direct or indirect results of bad politics. And, even if as individuals we have our own personal opinions, as a group we decided long before we launched this coin that we wouldn't let politics get involved in this project. This is why our opinion with regards to any of the issues that have been mentioned here is absolutely irrelevant. We created Croat to help the Catalan community, independently of their individual opinions. And the system is open to anyone who believes in its potential, whether they are Catalan or not.
Croat is not an ICO. We're not selling anything here, nor asking anyone for money. We create and develop. When Croat gets a real monetary value and listed on exchanges, this will only be because an important community believed in it and made it grow!
Nevertheless, we understand and accept diversity of opinions. There will always be detractors and people who will do whatever they can to discredit Croat and its developers, as well as its adopters. They are free to have their own opinion and to express it, although we would appreciate a lighter tone of the conversation and the lack of threats (which, by the way, is the only illegal action in this thread...). Keep in mind though that any publicity is good publicity, so the only thing they are doing is increasing awareness about Croat! So... thank you!
