I think that's quite impossible for that short period of time. 3 years won't be enough for Bitcoin to reach that huge amount. Maybe if 10 or more years and when Bitcoin is already legal to most countries, that value would be reached because the demand will definitely be high when that day come since it will be used by more people in daily transactions that will make the value of Bitcoin more expensive.

While a $500,000 price is eventually possible certainly, it's not gonna happen in 3 years. If global adoption happens (billions of people using bitcoin) and it becomes a major asset class for investors then $500k is definitely in the realm of possibility. But in 3 years I think $50k is a much better prediction. I expect bitcoin to just pass $50k by the end of 2020. $500k maybe in 2030 if bitcoin has been globally accepted.

In 2020 could be yes. Because, when maybe true technology has spread evenly in various places. So, bitcoin has no such restrictions. So for value $0.5M very possible to reached.

It's hard to take McAfee seriously when he is pumping so many shitcoins. However, looking at fundamentals of Bitcoin, it's entirely possible that Bitcoin could reach a few hundred k in 2020.

It will if bitcoin raises in value and usd loses its value at the same time. Second is already a fact as inflation push prices up, thus 1 usd is worth less now than 5 or 10 years ago. But bitcoin needs also to raise its value. Possible, but we need to find a quick solution to network congestion and high tx fees.

$500,000 is too high for now but it could happen if the spreading of bitcoin is every country and the government gives permission for cryptocurrency for being used by free. we still have two years from now and if the price increase higher than the highest price in the last time we see, then our opportunity to see the price increase high is wide open. I guess every people could make their own prediction about how high bitcoin price will go in the next year.

Although this post is pretty old, there are still people who are talking about abnormally high Bitcoin prices. It seems to me BTC will never reach this sum, and it will cost this year maximum 25K.

Not only John Macafee has his owns predictions there are other people who have their own. I agree with you whoever has their own predictions many of us got the courage to invest or buy more btc. It shows many users that are currently believes on what bitcoin may offer.

Nothing is impossible. But that price is too high unless all of these countries will support and use bitcoins. Yeah the price of it will increase but in the next 2 years, hmmm make it 10 and maybe it will reach half of what he said. John Macafee is not our God nor a Saint, so dont mind him.. This is an interesting claim honestly. I didn't think about this much prices first, but I changed my mind after I saw bitcoin price rally took place last year. Bitcoin can make anything on the global market.

Unless the whole world enters some kind of economic debacle I find those prices to be outside what I could consider possible, if we reached those prices then almost everyone here will become very rich but we will need a massive bubble for that to happen.

Yes it is we will became rich if the bubble will continue to strike but its so hard to convince all of the people to enter this scene since theirs so many people who still thinks negative on cryptocurrencies especially with bitcoins and surely government will rule the cryptoworld if they can see that their fiat will be dominated by the coin whos floating in digital world.

I don't think bitcoin will hit $500k. It is so high. There are so many countries that are banning bitcoin or regulating it. And this factor can affect the price of bitcoin. But if bitcoin will reach that mark. Then so be it.

Maybe he predicting too much high value and it is not possible to reach 500,000$ in two years time, even there is a huge growth in the market but at the same time market value should also increase, in order to increase its price.

$500000 is more possible than many people think here. Bitcoin has free nature and limited supply, if only we could make transactions faster its price will skyrocket to 50k or even 100k quite easily. Mcafee is bit weird but he may be right.
