it seems very unlikely and very difficult to happen because the rise in bitcoin prices is not just because of john macafee but bitcoin increase also there must be technological developments that use bitcoin, because the increase of pure bitcoin in because of the very high demand.

That is just a fantasy, we all would like a price that high but we need to be realistic the chances of that happening are low and I'm being generous because there is a big chance it is completely impossible, now if bitcoin did reach that price then I think the lives of many people in the forum will change dramatically, even having something as small as 0.1BTC could change the life of someone living in a poor country.

Bitcoin will face many more difficulties as well as competition from newer and probably improved cryptocurrencies. In time bitcoin will have to share the market cap with many others and won't always be so dominant. We've seen already its share of market cap has fallen over time and that will surely continue down towards the single figures. Given that, cryptocurrencies would really have to grow immeasurably for the price to go so high.

Not even in next 5 years this is probably possible. The person who stated this is either in a deep dream or gone mad. Value this big is so huge and kind of a dream, I accept but a dream which will always be a dream. I think it will never go to that height, $50k-100k would have been still believable, but after the recent crash it seems its tough, and might even take years even if it happens.

100-120k easily, but 500 is a stretch. In fact, Bitcoin may never reach any new hights, and hover forever around 15-20k, that's also a very real possibility.

Even experts can't really determined bitcoin's price in the  future since bitcoin is very volatile. You can expect that it will rise because of its volatility and demand, but i don't think a 500,000 dollar if realizable within that year.

You're right that bitcoin is very unique in its sentiment and the idea behind it. But from a purely technological point of view it could easily be surpassed in the future. At that point it's a battle between the idea of bitcoin and the usability of other coins.

I don't think the price of the bitcoin will hit 500k dollars because it is very unrealistic and very impossible to happen. I think 50k -100k dollars is the highest price and we don't know when it happen maybe after few years or it not happen.  Because if the price increase again at $20k it's hard to increase more it takes time to increase again.  But everything is possible to happen so always be prepare of what possible price of the bitcoin.

Firstly it is possible but how come that if he can rightly predicted it maybe with a mathematical analysis but its very hard and if he agains proves it or near with that it will definitely a big name again for every call or prediction that he will made.

The cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable to write off the $500k prediction and 2-3 years is a lot of time anything could happen considering  the continued interest coming from people all over the world I think this could happen

Because if the price increase again at $20k it's hard to increase more it takes time to increase again. 

The higher the price is, the less hard it becomes to have the price increase further. It may sound weird, but it's a fact. The main thing is that throughout the years, the number of on-exchange coins has decreased dramatically, which heavily contributes towards a market that gains more value, and that in quite a short period of time. Institutions taking long term positions in Bitcoin, people are more willing to hold their coins for a long period of time, the altcoin market that has boomed big time, more people using Bitcoin as store of value, etc. Bitcoin's utility has never seen this much actual usage. If we take things to the next level, then funds based on actual coin supply will take even more coins out of circulation, it's pure madness. Take into consideration that the block halving is not that far away anymore, and understand for yourself how scarce Bitcoin actually is.

Everyone will be happy if that happened since suppose even the person with the least amount of bitcoin in the forum will benefit greatly from such a price increase but being realistic it is almost impossible to reach a price like that at that time, I will be content to just reach 10% of that number since 50000 is a huge amount of money in my country.

250k? The problem is not the price since bitcoin has the potential to reach almost any price since it can become a substitute to all the fiat of the world the problem is the short amount of years in the prediction, if the prediction was in the next 50 years then I could think there was a chance it may happen but in 2020? That does not sounds possible.
