Has someone managed to run more than 13 GPU (nvidia) on Linux ? I currently have an Asrock card with 13 GPU from Nvidia and was tempted to go for a 19 gpu mining rig but before doing this, I'd like to make sure it works. I wrote to Asus and the only thing they can provide is a recommendation but with their recommendation you never reach 19 GPU of the same brand so it defeats the purpose of going for this card in my case.

I bought this board without reading the documentation so now i have ~16 nvidia GPUs so i'll try to get it working on ubuntu and report back here

Won't work, the limit is BIOS/CPU related from the looks of it, basically anything over 13 regular cards will not post properly on this board.

Having a problem with my ASUS B250 Miner.

Description:

ASUS B250 Miner
Intel G3930
8GB DDR4 2100
Kingston 120GB SSD
ASUS RX580 - 4MB
CORSAIR AXi Series AX1200i Digital 1200W
Antec HCP Platinum HCP-1000 1000W
Bios: 10.01

I have the RX580's configured with 4 on the A side and 3 on the B side. I can add more RX580s and they are recognized in win10 but when I try to mine with awesome miner, GPU errors start but they vary for each time I try. Never the same results.

Thanks for your time.

Wil

Have u adjusted virtual memory in windows?
OC'd to much?
No they are stock, I wasn't going to mess with them until everything is stable.
Virtual memory has not been adjusted. Just a clean install with updates.

Do the virtual memory and let us know.
Changed the virtual mem to 32MB and it seems to have no more errors at 8 cards. Will go to 10 tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Greatly appreciated!!!

If that's the case then there is no point buying this mb, I'm better off my Asrock mb Sad

13 GPU Nvidia Rig running under Ubuntu 16 (eth hash rate: 300+Mh/s @ 1000W for whole rig): 3x EVGA GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 65W) + 6x MSI Armor GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 70W) + 1x MSI GTX 1060 (24Mh/s @ 65W) + 3x Zotac GTX 1060 (24MH/s @ 65 W). PSU 2400W, Asrock ASRock H110 Pro BTC+, cheap Chinese risers, Kingston SSD 120Gb, 8Gb memory. Selling some of my GPUs (around 200€, still under warranty), if you're interested, contact me in private.

out of curiosity, how do you plug 13 GPU in this motherboard? It has only 3 PCIe slots, no?

Not really. I kicked these crappy ASRock trash and replaced with ASUS quality Z270-A Boards. Extremly more stablity, more memclock, lower core clock, lower voltages. It´s a huge difference. Looking forward to ASUS B250 Board :-)

The Asus B250 will work with 19 cards, but above 13 you need special mining cards to get them up to that point.

So it still has its place - I have 7 of them, only running 12 cards though, but the last 3 rigs I have run on Asus Z270-A boards, they are all equally stable.

Thanks for the info. I guess you are using AMD cards with those extenders? I read that Nvidia cards do not support extenders or am I wrong?

I really wish people would read that actual documentation provided by ASUS when buying this board, or the documentation on the product website, before posting this incorrect nonsense.

This motherboard has gotten a bad reputation for absolutely no reason.

It is by the far the easiest motherboard to use. You have to make zero BIOS changes other than to select iGPU as the main display. It ships default in mining mode. All PCI-e slots are spaced to avoid the ASRock shorting problem. Multiple ATX ports to avoid linking with third party addons. Increased PCI-e power for riser stability.

I have 3 of them, and it will be the only board I use unless they release one that's even better with no need for mining specific cards.

from what i read here, it all depends on the type of gpus you are using.

13 GPU Nvidia Rig running under Ubuntu 16 (eth hash rate: 300+Mh/s @ 1000W for whole rig): 3x EVGA GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 65W) + 6x MSI Armor GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 70W) + 1x MSI GTX 1060 (24Mh/s @ 65W) + 3x Zotac GTX 1060 (24MH/s @ 65 W). What screws are included with the motherboard?

Need to know since I am going to mount motherboard risers on the aluminium rig.

With the motherboard you don't get any screws.
I received manual, sata cables, backplate.

I don't remember I have ever received any screws with any of my boards in my entire life.

Has anyone figured out what PCI slot # (or GPU#) corresponds to the physical slots on the board when using 13 cards?  Very tough to troubleshoot when the GPU#'s change when you disconnect a card.
