hi, asus released a new bios update, has anyone tried it yet to see if it unlocks the extra slots for non-mining cards?

Official statement about this bios update are very clear, and they would probably say something about unlocking additional slots for non mining GPUs because that would be major change.

For Asus all 19 slots are working, so do not expect them to say "the bios now supports 19 cards" cause that would make customers to sue them for deceptive marketing and product feature. If they do a bios update to allow more than 13 gpus then it will be silent.

What is it that's stopping it from going over 13 cards, just seems strange.. Been waiting on my pre-order board since Dec from amazon.. I've got an Asus strix 6 slot running 10 cards fine

I think you'll might be missing a trick here..  Should be able to load the whole thing with Nvidia's, plus some!  You just have to do it in the right order. load in numbers that wont trip the switch from x2, x4, x8, x16...    This means you should load just x1 card per section, then x3 card, x7 cards.. So you don't swicth it's limits (if this section has x4 then that section limits to x8,x4,x2 or x1)  once completed x3 cards in each section, the empty slots can be filled without limiting the others, because it can't limit to x2 with x3 in use) Something like that anyway Cheesy   Think CPU lanes too

Other combinations may also work well, but ASUS doesn’t ensure the stability of the others. We recommend to use the suggested combinations.

When I get my board...!

I'll run 24+ cards on it

Any way to flash new bios from windows?

Winflash is tool for that but i am not sure if this board is supported.
I think that i have been flashing bios from windows only few times, to much stuff can go wrong so better just do it old-fashion way.

Flashing bios from windows is not recommended, I think you can just load the bios .rom in any pendrive and use the ezflash utility in the bios itself

The included "b250 mining software" is kind of crap. It does not show what lane that is not functioning.

Possibly the generic B250 mobo driver

No,
this kind of control can be done only with MBOs that have some kind of KVM on them, basically every better server board that's not entry level.

wake on lan can only "wake" board. buy a wi-fi power controller.... nice thing... some like this... https://vk.cc/7SjNyv 10A(1 device) , but you can find more powerful by yourself there.

Usb watchdog can't hard reset anything.

Well... kind of. If the rig freezez it will reset through reset switch. Cheaper than using wifi outlet.
