Of course one of the 'cards' is the Intel built in one... I did see some opencl drivers for that recently Wink  However has anybody made progress on a patch for this thing?  I did see references to the fact that you can hot plug during the POST to get past the card-lock.

Has anybody tried either messing with the version strings in the firmware of you're cards to fake a P106? One or the other might be able to get it done... a bit frustrating that nvidia was returned a mad huge shipment from one of their Taiwan "big 3" wholesale partners due to low demand, hey ASUS lift this restriction and more cards will be moving off the shelf!! Wink

With all the churn with the amd-gpu-pro driver opening up in https://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ubuntu/amdgpu-pro-18.20-606296.tar.xz recently rebuilding to see how much difference that makes.

The combined AMD/NVIDIA MINING worked for me up too ethminer version 0.14.0.dev3+git.83693003 with;
ethminer -X -S X:8011 -SP 1 -O 0x1234 --farm-recheck 200 --opencl-platform 0

rebuilding to see if the current git version works...

you really should consider setting the temp limit to a lower temperature. 85C default limit is too high, you shouldn't run your GPUs with temperatures like that. 75-77C is much better.

That CPU i3-8100 is currently not on the list of supported CPUs so for now don't count on that.
Maybe after next BIOS update will appear on that list.

Tarhet temp is 50C. Thwy arw normally around 65C. But during the 2 hottest hours they may peak to 85C. And 40C at night.

The 8100 will never work with this motherboard. The 8th generation processors from Intel require a 300-series motherboard to operate (e.g B360, Z370) because of 'power delivery issues' as stated by Intel. Even though the i3s shouldn't be an issue in that case, they still put in microcode locks on the cpu, etc. to prevent them from working in older boards. There have been somewhat successful attempts to put 8th gen chips in 200 and 100-series motherboards, but they were never very successful and only for some specific boards; anything that is 6th or 7th gen from Intel should work on this board. It's really not worth the effort to get 8th gen chips to work anyhow with possible compatibility and stability issues with multiple GPUs ahead if such a task were to be attempted.

Why not set temp limit to 75 just to prevent cards from going all up to 85?
Throttling will decrease hashrate but that's probably better if you want longevity for the cards.

I read some saying 85C some hours every week aint that bad.
Normally they are 70C. But these days are damn hot with 31C outside. The rigs are outside.

Do you have any vents behind the cards or just natural airflow? Some new rigs have pre-made holes to mount 120mm vents behind.
If i remember correctly you have made your own rig from wood? Maybe you could just add one more plank with 2 L stands to mount few vents just to make some additional airflow.

They are placed in a pillow box and standing outside Smiley
Fans blowing in and fans on rear blowing out.
Outside temp are 31C and gpus are 60C.

Look at youtube, a guy have done something the same. Outdoor mining rig in plastic pillows box.

How many GPU on your rig now ? You could run at least 12 Nvidia cards or 12 AMD card using 1010 bios version. But for better improvement stability, you should install the latest bios (1205 version)

And install the latest Amd drivers that can supports mining rigs with more than 8 GPUs (for AMD miners)
