hard bios voltage mod.

That is a physical hardware mod right? In my book, that is a dangerous thing to do hehe but if done correctly is very safe.
No, modify the voltage table in the vbios and flash it. It is just moderately dangerous, just make sure you have a backup of the original one.

Hi Guys, i got 4 units of B250 Mining Expert,

And on 2 or 3 units, i got a problem with the 2x4 pin 12volt power plug near the cpu.

For un unknown reason, i got to much power came from this plug, with the result of a fused plastic connector to the motherboard, and the plastic around the cable are molten. Power supply about 1700w, chinese one.  (but was working ok for a few month before)

Do you know the cause of it ?  Maybe a riser bad powered (adaptator?) resulting the necessary power to come from the motherboard instead?

Same, got a problem too with the 3rd molex connector, passing too much power and molten the wire (yellow one). (this time i got a bad molex power adaptator)

Well i did not do that but somehow it was fixed for now by changing the gpu order.

Have this board but haven't tested with past 13 cards yet.
Will be getting my hands on a p106-100 very soon so will let everybody know how it goes with amd cards along with these mining cards w/ nvidia chipset.

I'm new to Mining, I already purchased a few items for a rig, Asus B250 Mining Expert MoBo,
STRAIGHT POWER 11 1000W PSU, Which is for my first group of GPU's, (I have to say it is not just another rebranded psu! This is a total fresh design) for the A slot.
6 pack of 009c Risers
And 2 Nvidia GXT 1070 fe!
Just ordered a ADATA SU800 128gb SSD should be here any day!
I am waiting for a better price on: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 Desktop Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2A2400C16)

So I still need to buy a CPU and I am considering three options:
1.Intel® Core™ i3-7100 Processor 3M Cache, 3.90 GHz  •  TDP 51 W
Recommended Customer Price $117.00
2.Intel® Core™ i3-7320 Processor 4M Cache, 4.10 GHz  •  TDP 51 W
Recommended Customer Price $149.00 - $157.00

I NEED YOUR FEED BACK, what do you think I need as a CPU and why do you recommend it and what are the perks?
I am thinks of several different coins as well! So Algo's are changing!

I know I am going to get pounded on "Hey just buy the cheapest and get a quicker ROI!" I get it!!! "Just buy a Sillyron or a Pentium!"
But as the complexity goes up, as all GPU's regardless that it may be a group of GPU's of the same make and model number that not all the same, you have to Bench test, if you want to to find the total results and "OC and under-Volting" I get it!
My believes are they sometimes there will be small moments in Mining funtions with different difficulties, depending on the coinage that your after that and the different algorithms that your GPU's my seek Resources, that may be problem-ma tic! So that's is why I am adding a higher end CPU and additional Ram too.

And I need to obviously buy more GPU's to make a profit! And for a while I will buy more Nvidia GXT 1070 fe's because they are only #399.00 each

Are there another Miners that think as I do, and if you could recommend which CPU and why, thank you everyone for your time and hopefully we will all see better times in Mining!!! Thank you all!!

I would like to buy this motherboard but I have some questions:

Which 24-pin EATX Power connector (s) (A-B-C) should be used on the motherboard ?

I only have 4 gtx 1070 with PCIe riser kits with a USB connection and additional power input.

for full load (19gpus) - 3x  PSU with common 24pin connector.

This mobo is for "mining" gpus, cauze after 12 card its difficult to start it with normal(not mining) gpu.

Wrong.  You can use 13 GPU's.  The P series dedicated miner cards have to be used for 14-19.  Do you even own a ASUS Mining Expert? I have 4 and all 4 of them disagree with you because they know its factually untrue what you are saying. Wink

For me maximum number is 14 x Asus Strix  1080Ti.

MBO is powered with one psu, gpus and riser are powered from external psu-s.
You need only 1 24pin from psu. Others are only for syncing I think.

got much trouble with this mobo

tried to run 16x P106-100 but cant get it stable

i restart with one GPU and add one GPU ... at some point i found that one GPU crash - after searching for one day i can see in HWInfo, that the mem clock of one GPU dont show 2250Mhz like the others...max 30 seconds after miner starts, the mem clock raise to 4500mhz and the GPU crash. i switched the Port on the MB and the raiser - the problem than went away to a other GPU that runs good until i switch the port! Why the hell, the mobo cant handle only (at the moment) 6 GPUs without get in trouble? i tried many variations of ports...everytime a different GPU crash with doubled mem clock than i set with afterburner

for example...only 2 GPUs
if i start pheonix or claymore with ID 1 alone...no problems. the same if i start only with GPU 2 . but together one GPU will fail after some seconds

If you virtualize 2 windows sessions with 9 GPU each, can you get 18 of the same working on this board?

no. its a motherboard hardware limitation. not a OS limit.

you can only get more than 13 if you use the P10x mining cards

That's strange, didn't they get all recognised on linux systems?
Pretty poor support from Asus then.

Hi,
Did you connected all molex connectors on the board to PSU (It must be connected from the same PSU which you connected to the power slot 1)?

the answer is no. its a bios limitation that prevents the board from working with more than 13 normal GPUs.

you can only get 19 GPUs working if you use mining gpus like the P106-100 cards
