it maybe unpleasant yes, but is very common now especially with the recent market situation most coin listed on exchange during this process are all facing the same low price below ico,
the way it is now, buying from exchange seem a bit more profitable than participate in ico's because in the end you end up getting more discount when listed on exchange hopefully things will turn around.
