Basically, BTC is a valuable coin and should be kept the longest in the cryptocurrency market. I believe that investors can also buy into ETH and NEO at this time because they are two very well-grounded altcoin and in the future it can grow very strongly due to the tremendous support from community.

When deciding in which coin to invest you can either blindly follow suggestions by others or make your own informed descision based on some criteria:

• What problem does the project attempt to solve?
• Is it a solution looking for a problem?
• Is there active development behind the project? (check Github activity)
• Has the team produced anything but a whitepaper?
• Are there established competitors which are much further into delivering a working product?
• Cross reference developers against previous scam projects
• Current market capitalization of the coin

This is a very good suggestion and things to look out for when looking for a coin to invest in and if they are followed properly, I believe it will help to find a good coin to invest in.
