No. In my country, people want to own guns so they can scare people. They use it to act like they run around things in their place. Guns are only used for violence and not for the protection of their own so police and authorities should only be the ones to own it.

So if someone is trying to kill you or your friends you think you can't protect yourself aganist any threat? The fact is that police is not efficient and I dont think that someone else knows  better than me how to protect me and my property.

that's the point mate to protect you and your love ones life I think its still for those responsible enough not being control by this deadly weapons
guns can protect but also can be abuse by those people who don't know how to respect others and many cases guns has been use to hurt or

Everyone else can discuss if people should have a right to have a gun or not.

I don't have a gun and don't plan on getting one soon and if ever as I think that there would not be any need for me to purchase a gun as it is not neccessary. However I do believe that in some cases that it is needed and that it is required. However I strongly oppose arming civillians as it might cause them to take matters into their own hands and it would be catastrophic as you are giving them the right to build a private army and make a civil war.

I don't have a gun. Owning a gun is risky and expensive.. No need to have it because we are fully secured in our place.. Somebody owns a gun might say, for protection against threat.. case to case basis , might be their passion but lets put in our minds that abused using on it may took you in trouble..

You can't build a private army with civilians armed with hunting rifles and pistols. You need military trainers and advanced equipment for that. So I would say that the chances of someone forming a private army using these small arms is quite low.

the big problem, at least in my country, if you shoot thief for by self defence there is a big chance that you end in jail. The laws here are very shitty in that matter.

Maybe if you become an American citizen, with the crime rate no 1 in the world lets you have firearms.
Because it is useful to keep yourself, when this robbery is very helpful for you to take care of yourself.
Indeed when you have a weapon you must have permission to have it, but not a few of those who have it without permission.
