I've always had problems with Electrum and I mean on different pcs with different op. systems (Win 7 and Win 10). See here for example. It's the worst thing to keep money in a wallet that is proving unstable. At least on my computers. Now I got instructions as to how to recover BCH using ElectronCash. It has the same behavior as Electrum. It won't open. To be fair, for a moment I even got to get into a wallet but it didn't last long. After I closed it it never opened again. I tried deleting the ..\AppData\Roaming\ElectronCash folder, installing/reinstalling etc but nothing much happens. Also, after "installation" I don't see no icon and I cannot locate the installation folder (if it is indeed installed anywhere). There's nothing worse to have money in a wallet and be the prisoner of the damn wallet itself. My experience with Electrum and ElectronCash, up to now, is terrible. I wouldn't recommend neither of the two to anyone. There's a chance they will work and there's a chance you'll find yourself sweating in anxiety. I've ordered a hardware wallet and I hope this is going to save me from the Electrum uncertainty. Anyway, a couple of questions: - what the f**k is going on with this damn thing?
- where is it (ElectronCash) installed?
- can I use the Electrum seed with some other wallet to recover my BCH? (I've already managed to sent the BTC to Poloniex)
thansks

No instalation needed.
It will run directly from .exe file. Creating only folder in App (with your encrypted wallet).
I never had problem with Electrum/Electron. Both running Ok everytime.

I'm sure it works ok with lots of other people. Like I said, I tried deleting the App folder but it didn't help. Now I'm restoring my whole computer from an image (yeah... that convenient) so that I might see it running at least once on a fresh system. Use coinomi mobile wallet What for? Do you mean that the Electrum seed is compatible with it and that I could recover my BCH with it?

Not even on a freshly installed o.s.
what other options are there? I think I'll try installing it on an Android.

I've installed it on Android and... it doesn't work there either! I've entered the seed and then: "Unfortunately, Electron-Cash has stopped." You don't say... That makes three different devices with three different o.s. where the ElectronCash doesn't work.

I had kept a copy of the wallet file and opening it with ElectronCash worked.
I gave a send order and it says it needs 20 confirmations. I've been waiting for sometime now with no confirmations. See how it goes.

If you need to recover from seed, follow this tutorial: https://blog.btc.com/your-bitcoin-cash-is-safe-with-btc-com-39b271da5692I have read many flags about electrum cash, would avoid to use it if possible

btw here's my update in case other people will find it useful: I had a spare copy of the wallet file. It's important to note, for everyone, that electrum and electronCash cannot coexist simultaneously on the same machine. - I installed and run electrum and sent my xbt to some wallet.
- I removed the electrum installation and deleted the ..\AppData\Roaming\ElectronCash folder
- I run the electronCash file
- I opened the spare copy of the wallet file and sent the bch to some wallet
For some reason electrum and electronCash often don’t load on my Win7 machine and I never got to start them on my Win10 computer. Anyway, all well when ends well.

There must be something very odd with your installation... perhaps some security software or firewall that you're running or maybe some weird permissions issue or something is causing your problems. I've not had major issues with either Electrum or ElectronCash on Windows 10 (or Windows 7 in a VM for that matter)... they both run quite happily on the same machine at the same time: Also, I think you meant to say that you removed the "..\AppData\Roaming\ Electrum" folder

Nothing works The correct way is to just put a space between each word. "word1 word2 word3..."; If it doesn't work, maybe the seed you are trying to enter is wrong? Go back to your Electrum wallet, then go to Wallet -> Seed and recheck your seed. If for some reason you still can't continue, you can just open your already existent Electrum wallet file into Electron Cash as they are both compatible.[/list]

Let me elaborate, last week, I tried to log into my my Electrum wallet and it asked for my 2FA, but when I created the wallet it was not a 2FA. So I created a new wallet (within Electrum) and successfully made it 2FA and is showed the correct BTC amount. So, maybe a 2FA wallet does not contain the seed, by construction? I saved the seed on paper, I know it's correct because I am very careful.

If your wallet is a 2FA one, you can only see the seed while creating the wallet. So there is no way to recheck it again. But anyways, the issue here is that Electron Cash don't have support for the TrustedCoin 2FA (the one from Electrum), so you can't just use the seed to restore the wallet in Electron Cash. That's what you will need to do: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/6wf50x/recovering_your_bitcoin_cash_from_a_trustedcoin/

I've just check and all are the same. Thanks for your next steps and the link, but what is TrustedCoin? I have never had that so not sure it applied to me?

Don't worry! This is your Bitcoin Cash and has nothing to do with Bitconnect. The Electron Cash version you downloaded (which was necessary for this method) was released when the Bitcoin Cash community was deciding between the ticker BCH and BCC (which is BCH now).
BTW, 1000 mBCC = 1 BCC. You can change the display to BCC by going to Tools -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Change "Base Unit" to BCC.
