There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Ethereum is one of the most successful projects I have seen in my entire life.
Litecoin also has a lot of potential to grow.
Waves is regarded as an Ethereum killer and I believe in it.

There are lot of altcoin I love. It's pretty difficult to choose 3. But if choose 3 then I pick BTC ETH NEO. Because all of this coins are most popular, good for exchange, have a good future and most promising coin in crypto Industry ever.

Eth: One of the brilliant platforms out there....I consider it the queen of the crypto world (with BTC the king for sure).....DAPP, Smart contracts....
Waves: an excellent competitor to Ethereum....smart contracts
EOS: I believe this one will be a super one

As what I will state is obvious and straightforward, so it would be Ethereum, Ripple, and Litecoin.
Disclaimer: All statements that will be mentioned here is not copied and are carefully being credited if some will be mentioned.
Ethereum was created by J.P Morgan Chase, Microsoft and Intel that is currently the closest rival to Bitcoin. As what I've read an article ago, The New York Times describes it as “a single shared computer that is run by the network of users and on which resources are parceled out and paid for by Ether.” So basically what it does is that, it binds directly to the Blockchain itself.
Ripple, despite being new it gained a quite intriguing entrance since it doubles up its price just after a 24 - hour period. It created a solution that makes the total cost of settlement lower by enabling banks to transact directly, instantly, and with certainty of settlement. So its pretty handy isn't it?
Litecoin on the other hand is quite different since, the sole purpose of this coin is to increase Bitcoin it self. Its like it is Bitcoin but the lite version of it, it you know what I mean. However its drawback would be creating more orphaned blocks.

I have only two coin as of the moment , but looking forward to invest more in some altcoins , I have ETH now because as we can see in the ranking this coin is next to BTC so its very simple for me to invest in ETH , I also have waves just for me to trade everyday when I have an interest to trade to promising altcoins . I plan to invest also to LTC since my friends tells me that this coins is a good coin .

There are many coin in online Market but all time all coin is not suitable for buy and sell . My Best choice is Bitcoin, ETH, Ltc, Xvg etc. My first choice is Bitcoin because Bitcoin is a Great valuable 2nd is ETH and 3rd is Ltc as a same part of cos so it is my favorite three coin.

Is Ark and Wave good for long HOLD? It depends on how you believe those coins and as a matter of fact all of the coins has the chance be good for holding. Wave is a good alt coin and there are so many people that are holding it, so I advice you to keep on holding with waves. Ark is also a good but I would say that this is trading, you must sell some and hold some. |

my favourite 3 altcoins is
1 bitcoin
2 Eth
3 waves
because bitcoin is popular. it's price is high and price is rising.
Eth favourite because it's also popular. it will be popular after bitcoin. maximum people use Eth.
waves favourite because it's future is good. now price is low but 2/3 months later it will be increased.

My favorite 3 Altcoins are ETH, DASH and STRAT. I am choosing these 3 due to their consistency and tremendous growth over the years. Now, these are just my own way of answering your question though but I can say there are some other altcoins that can still stand here as the top 3 but I just had to choose these ones anyway. Over time, I expect some altcoins including these ones mentioned to have huge growth in a short period.

I used to be a great fan of nexus, stratis and game credit but I've been a little disappointed lately since their projects don't seem to advance quickly enough :/ Lately I've been keeping an eye on Atlant, Salt and Guts. I believe in their projects and they appear very professional. Guts for example already has a functioning system, Salt is very professional legal departement, Atlant could revolutionize the world of real estate...
